For those of you on the slim side, what are you favorite brands for slim fitted shirts? Personally, I've been buying Banana Republic and Charles Tyrwhitt for a while, but am looking to try some others. Dpeartment store brands are almost always a bust. I'm 6'2", 180 lbs, and usually take a 15.5 34/35.

I see some nice prices for Henry Jacobson and XMI on STP, but have not owned either.

I'm also tall and slim - a 16 or 16.5 by 36/37, so it looks like we're in a similar boat. I've had good luck with Hugo Boss and some of Nordstrom's house branded shirts.

I like XMI shirts fairly much. Of course, I am not, unfortunately, as slim....

When you're 6'1", 280lbs, and take a 17.5/37, all shirts are "slim-fit". I bought all of mine through Land's End (and now, they continue sending me those catalogs!)

I'm fond of the CT slim fit ... especially the Sea Island ones of late ... although the fit seems to be getting a little less slim in the latest editions.

I wear a 16.5/36. I tried on a Brooks Brothers slimfit (they may call it athletic fit or something, I can't remember) and it was waaay too slim for me (6'4", 190). I tried on their middle of the road fit, and liked it very much, until I found out that it is called the Executive Fit, and they only sell it in their high-end ($200 and up) dress shirts. Typical for me, that's why my father calls me "Cadillac" (although I'm thinking now he should have called me Maserati or Bentley).

15-34/35 here. I've found some inexpensive Van Heusen shirts that fit very well, and others not so much. A couple of rather nice Donna Karan shirts that fit well. For department stores, H & M does really well for slim fit in general, though I've never tried a shirt there. They have some rather stylish stuff, though quality is hit or miss. I find that if you have wide shoulders and narrow hips, everything made these days fits like a bag.

HUGE +1. Yeah, I'm chubbier than I should be... but the 3 Land's End shirts I own... PHENOMENAL. I wish I could wear them every day. Small price to pay for the damned catalogs every month.

Wow. Take off one inch and you have my measurements. BR is nice. I recently got some Calvin Klein fitted shirts that are just right at Macy's.

I'm 250 and 5'11", and my wife one day came home from a trip to an outlet with some great deals on brooks brothers shirts. Unfortunately, she didn't notice the "slim fit" on the label - I don't wear those too often. :scared:

That's an interesting idea. Hadn't thought of that.

6' , broad shoulders and a 32" waist it is my only choice unless I want to look like I am wearing a bag.

Lands End does custom fit shirts for a very reasonable price. They are high quality.

Don't laugh, but the JC Penney Stafford brand has a great fitted shirt line. I have to say the fit and finish on these shirts and the quality of the fabric is excellent for the $25 price tag, and you can often pick them up cheaper when they're on sale, which they always seem to be. Paul Frederick is a mail order catalog house which also makes very good quality shirts, but try just one of the Stafford fitteds, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I hope you have a great deal of sang-froid in dealing with Jantzen. Stories abound with their order handling, but people still order from them so their products must be worth the hassle. I've thought about ordering from them as well but have yet to pull the trigger.

My $0.02 - I'm 6'0, 165, 15-34, 33'" waist unless I'm running a lot, then it's 32". My first choice is TM Lewin, I love the cut and the collar. After that there's vintage Turnbull & Asser, when I can get my hands on it.

Of course, you can always have your shirts custom made if you know of a good shirtmaker. That way the fit is perfect, and you and the tailor can talk and plan out all the details. (And once they get your measurements, more shirts is just a phonecall away ... )

I've read the threads over at AAAC, but it seems the turnaround may be getting better. If you read their very front page, they say they're very backordered, so it's not surprising there's a wait for M2M clothes. I don't mind the wait and hassle if the shirts are outstanding. And really, $40 for M2M?!

I've never ordered from TM Lewin, but I see they have a good sale going on now. Might have to take the plunge.

Wow...$40? What are the prices for adult sizes. :001_tt2:

Land's End has both regular fit and tailored fit shirts with exact collar and sleeve sizes and for a few more $ they have custom made shirts. I've been buying LE shirts for 15 years a find them to be high quality and excellent value, as you can get exact sizing.

I saw this thread title and cringed.

6'5", 220lb .... not all my shirts are automatically slim fit, but I really am picky about shirts. I take a 17/38. If I buy a shirt that isn't "relaxed" fit, I usually get screwed on the sleeve length, even if it SAYS "38" right there on the label. I'm usually settling for 37 (dept. store max) and do OK, but only because of the relaxed fit.

I have noticed that Land's End tends to make their shirts slim. I have one, and I didn't buy any more because I noticed the slim fit is just annoying to me. Eddie Bauer also does slim fit, but by specific order, not just sprung on you.
