Does anyone have experience with these Gorillapod tripods?

They look pretty nifty, but I'm wondering if anyone who owns one finds them useful in practice.

I have had the smaller version (for compact cameras) for over a year, and I couldn't be happier. I have given them as gifts to friends, and they too tell me how immensely useful they are. They are light and small, and can be used in situations no tripod could be used. However, they will not fully replace a tripod. Best - MM

I have Ultrapod II found here (http://www.pedcopods.com/products.htm). Have mounted a DSLR without any problem. The website is not very clear but the product is great. Will try and post a picture of it a little later. It is useful in places they do not allow a full sized tripod. Easy to sneak this one in.

I have been using the Original Gorillapod with a Canon Ixus 800IS for just over a year - very pleased with it.

It's been on my wish list since before you could buy it. Maybe I should get one already.

I have one of these and it is great. The small size slips into a pocket very easy.

I got one for my cousin for Christmas last year. I knew he was in to selling stuff on eBay, so I figured it'd help him take better pictures. I wasn't sure about it, so I figured giving one away before buying one for myself made sense ;) He thought it seemed perfect. Haven't asked him about it, but I've made a mental note to mention it on Thanksgiving.
