I always feel a little weird going in there. I was in 2 Sally's stores today. Just to see what they have. Actually, the first visit, over lunch, was somewhat fruitful, picked up the new Clubman Aftershave lotion (in the tube, not the stuff you all know and love in the bottle) to go along with the Luxury shave cream I already have. Same exact scent as the Shave Cream.. that many around here just don't seem to like. I like it just fine, it's my "menthol" kick. Anyway, they had a bottle of something from Master, I was looking for the "Lord and Master" A/S, but all they had was the Bay Rum. Now, they did NOT have this before, which makes me think, maybe they just get that stuff in at random. Better stop more often.
Which leads me to visit #2, this evening, after dinner at Ci Ci's with the kids. We just stopped in, they asked if they could help, I asked where the Men's stuff was, a nice lady showed me, and started talking up their American Crew knock-off line, esp. the cologne. I had smelled it before and wasn't impressed. But anyway, I said thanks, and proceeded to look interested for a few minutes, but they had the exact same products as the other Sally's I stopped at.. same Clubman stuff, same Master's Bay Rum. On my way out, she again asked if there was anything they could help with, I just said.. "No, I was just checking to see what you have.." LOL. I doubt she gets many visits like that. Though who knows. I know others have reported finding various gems at Sally's, but for the Cleveland area, the pickings have been pretty slim. But, if you want the big bottle of Clubman classic a/s, that's the place to go!

My recent experience with Sally's pretty much mirrors yours. I picked up some of the Clubman SC and a sample pack that had the balm and face scrub. I'm not wild about the Clubman products but they do have a decent menthol kick. The balm's not too bad but I'm not in love with the scent.

I might pick up the scrub.. let us know how it works. I've been "out" of my regular face scrub (American Crew Sport) for far too long. I love that stuff. I just haven't seen it on the shelves recently, though most stores that have Crew stuff don't carry it, I have to hit a beauty shop for the specialty items.

The scrub is ok but there's better stuff IMHO. It is loaded with exfoliating grit and lots of menthol too. I also don't think it's right for my skin type, so YMMV.

yea, it's hard to get the right balance of "grit" - at first I couldn't stand any grit at all, but now I like it, but too much makes you feel like you're scraping your face off (which actually is the idea, just not in huge layers)..

I agree sir. I found the clubman scrub to be a little too much "scrub" for me.

I got a huge bottle of Master bay rum aftershave at a Sally's for $6, several months ago. It seems like every time I go there, they have less and less shaving stuff, though. It will not surprise me if, someday, they don't have any.

I believe you feel akward because they jump you like a used car salesman (hope I'm not offending anyone) when you walk into the store. It's not like your giong into a store that just sells lingerie. There are products for men there. Men do cut hair. They're called barbers! Get off our backs and let us browse. Maybe we'll buy an additional item if you let us look around the store!

I've been on two of their stores around here, and they're really nice. They didn't push anything on me, took "just looking" for an answer the three times I went in to sniff the Masters Bay Rum, and were helpful when I asked about containers to put some balm in. I didn't feel awkward being in there at all.
