My hands on experience extends ONLY to maintaining an edge with the La Verte coti that I have.
I traded a nice Solingen straight to another user and they have chipped the blade but they do not have a hone. I PMed Paco and he said it could be honed out but can I do this for them with just the coti I have? I have a slurry stone for the coti but since I have only maintained edges I'm not sure if I need more equipment..... Oh please say yes so I can justify more hones . I have some DMTs but I have only used these on kitchen knives (red and blue ones). I am out of my element on this one.....

will take a long time to grind that out with just a coti.
get a chosera 1K
you could use your dmt blue
here is a grit chart from DMT

BLACK (X) Diamond - Extra Coarse Fix and restore a damaged edge (220 mesh, 60 mircron)
BLUE (C) Diamond - Coarse Quickly sharpen a neglected edge (325 mesh, 45 micron)
RED (F) Diamond - Fine Put a keen edge on a maintained tool (600 mesh, 25 micron)
GREEN (E) Diamond - Extra Fine Sharpen to a razor edge (1200 mesh, 9 micron)

I would prefer to use a 1k stone on that myself but I could do it with the blue DMT and your coticule in a pinch.

You can, but it will take a long time. Any 1K stone would speed things up.

you could just get a DMT1200 diamond plate..give that a try,...works to set my bevels quicker than my old synthetics
Tape the edge and use the 325. Then go to the coti and slurry with or without tape. That will work without much hassle.

I've got rid of bigger chips than that with just my les lat coti before, man up and get it done! just slurry as heavy as you can and go for it

I think if you keep up a heavy slurry and lean on it just a tiny bit it shouldn't take more than a few.

That's what I'd use too. I've used coarser hones - a green carbide 325 grit - to get chips out. Takes nearly as much work on the DMT 1200 to get the scratches out as it would the chip.
