Hello everyone! Thanks to everyone on this forum - it's a fantastic resource for the new wet-shaver.

I've been using a brush and shaving soaps for about five months, and made the switch to a DE razor (EJ DE89BA11) a couple of months ago. All I can say is WOW! No more ingrown hairs, no more irritation (most of the time anyway), and the closest shave I've ever had. I had previously used all manner of products and razors (electrics, cartridge razors, a dozen different foams and gels, etc.) and nothing even comes close.

I'd go straight to grooming lounge in tysons galleria for a hands on with tons of good products... everything esle, IIRC, pales in comparison bu stock, great if you need it now, but maybe prices not the best. haven't been there in a while...

sounds like we have enough people to have a small get together this summer, if anyone is up for it.

Greetings http://www.weekendescapes.com/drive/vaf.gif Steve from Fairfax, VA (Yeah Baby!!!).

Welcome aboard the B & B (besides being enrolled in the fictional, sacred and utopian Order of Shavedom). Please feel free to come up to the promenade / sun deck & 'sit-a-spell'.

Sounds like you're off to a great start and yes...(and there are a many great Ladies here on B & B), this Forum has the knowledge, ideas, and all around 'know-how' to assist in your Wet-Shaving experience. In a nut-shell...your 'gonna' love it here.

In my opinon, it was wise and sage advice to get a Razor Blade Sampler (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/208375-DE-Blade-Sampler-Which-Blade-First?highlight= (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/208375-DE-Blade-Sampler-Which-Blade-First?highlight)), so that you'll see what blade would be a good fit (mild, moderate & aggressive, ect...), for your face and Razor.

Also, the Thread entitled Wet Shaving Instructions & Tutorials (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...THIS-THREAD%21 (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/71700-WET-SHAVING-INSTRUCTIONS-AND-TUTORIALS-New-READ-THIS-THREAD%21)), maybe of great interest to you and is very informative to include shaving videos by member Mantic @ http://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59 (http://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59).

Although, you may not be additted yet (I think I'm holding up fairly well...with a few exceptions), because we all suffer (gladly and are doomed perhaps), from this shaving complusion (and other Acquisition Disorders), because at times..."Resistance is futile". http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-alien003.gif

Please don't forget once you get time....to tell us a little about yourself in the Hall of Fame sub-forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and it's great to know there are many locals on here too! I'll definitely have to check out some of the brick and mortar stores selling shaving supplies in the DC area - glad to see there is enough interest to support them.

About the compulsion: yes indeed, I can see that coming ...I think I've acquired about 2 years worth of soaps and creams in a couple of months (I just need to try a bunch to see what I like, right??)

Well, whatever soaps and creams you do not like, I am sure that some members here would love to take some product off your hands.
