I just signed a lease for a new commercial space and once I am settled in, local customers will be able to come in, by appointment, if they wish. More news will be forthcoming but, the new place will be located at 2370 West Carson Street, Suite 140 in Torrance, CA.
I will still primarily be an on-line shop and do not have the manpower (or capital) to run it as a true retail shop. That said, I will be able to provide pick-up service and/or a quick tour.

Thanks guys. I am a little anxious but I am definitely looking forward to it.
You're opening yourself up to having a van full of B&Bers pawing and sniffing all your goods, Phil.

Congrats Phil, you deserve it. Your service is top notch and you certainly have enough selection to fill a retail space. When I make my first trip to Cali, I'll be sure to stop in.

Hey, according to google Cleveland to Torrance is not that bad of a road trip. Ok B and B, I will stop for an hour in Joplin, then it is Westward Ho!

Congratulations BullGoose! I'll have to make an appointment sometime and come on in. I've always wished there were a "real" shaving supply store that was local, so that I could smell before buying. Too bad you're not closer to the "The Valley." But that's cool. That's what all our damn freeways are for, right?
Again, congratulations and don't be too anxious. Just stay positive and keep moving forward.

The only thing that would slow me down if that would happen is the traffic on 405.

I work in RPV so I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. My paycheck might not make it to the bank next week...
seriously though this is great news. I'll no longer have to drive out to chino hills (WCS) to buy new shaving stuff :)

Awesome man! Always good to see our friends expanding.
It would be nice to go at least limited-hours retail... perhaps you could find a local B&Ber who is retired and looking for something to do? I'll give you a call in about 20 years if I don't get a job at Gunslingers

Congratulations on the new store. That's like right down the street from me! I've always (well, ever since I began this hobby) wanted to go to a shaving store to be able to smell some stuff before I decide what to buy. I look forward to you settling in and being able to make an appointment to make a purchase with you!

Congrats Phil. As the proprietor of three "brick and mortar" retail locations I understand clearly the amount of work involved with moving/setting up a business. You said the retail/pick-up side of things will be by appointment; are you planning on setting up an informal lobby/showroom for recieving your guests, or more of a "here's my desk and let me show you the warehouse" kind of thing? Will you have hot coffee available? An on-site shave den w/ hot towels and a barber's chair? A mini-bar? Big screen monitor for mantic59 and Seraphim videos? :w00t:
Sorry. Got carried away. Have fun in the new site!

:001_smile Thank you. At first it will be more of a "here is my office and let me show you around the warehouse". Eventually, I would like to set up a showroom and hot coffee is always a good idea.

It is open as an on-line store only right now. At some point (hopefully this fall) I will have a pick-up service but that will have to wait until I have employees. The main update is that I was able to install new shipping software which then allowed me to offer an additional shipping option and automatic tracking. One step at a time.

Oh ok that's good, Im fairly close to Torrance and for the meanwhile I will build up my funds to hopefully get something from you in the future.

Sounds great Phil. If I ever get back to the left coast I now have two, possibly three wet shaving stores tooogle over. Good thing I live in the middle of cattle country where I am safe from such daily temptations.

Any updates on being able to visit the storefront?
<sigh> I hope to allow pickups by the holidays but it won't really be a storefront that you can browse. This deadline though is dependent on a number of things including hiring employees. We'll see. I have been moved in for several months and am slowly getting things in shape.

I understand, it's running two businesses at once, it must be really difficult.
Even if things are messy, I bet a lot of people (or at least me) would love to be able to check out a product or two, just to be able to look at it/check scent, before buying. I think that would be big part of going to a storefront to just see/smell/feel before buying.
I would love to go digging through that messy place though :) Would be like digging through an antique shop full of candy!

Recently placed my first order on the Bullgoose site and was amazed at how fast the item shipped. His shipping was also lower than I would have paid if I ordered my item direct from the manufacturer. Fantastic.
There was a slight flaw, from the manufacturer, in my item. When I let Phil know about it, he promptly shipped out another one. I got my replacement around the time I would have generally expected the first to come...the shipping was that superb.
I'm one who will always shop based on customer service. I don't even care if I have to pay a bit more on an item, it's just that worth it to me. I can honestly say that based on my experience with Bullgoose that if I'm buying a new shaving item I'll always check there first to see if he has it. Thanks for the great service Phil. If I'm ever in the area, I'll be sure and make an appointment to see you in person.

I'm sure you've already thought of this, but what about opening for four hours on a Saturday—sort of an open house, advertised in advance. I bet a bunch of us would show up and buy stuff.
Just a thought. . . .

I have thought about it but I just cannot do it until I hire somebody (or more realistically hire a few people).
