After a 120 mile jaunt to town this weekend, I am still looking for soap, cream, AS, etc samples. There wasnt a thing in town. Someone tell me the secret to finding samples. :)

If you mean Kalispell, Montana you're probably better off getting your samples direct from the dealer; Floris, Penhaligon, etc. There are some threads somewhere on this site that have contact information for the various dealers.
Good luck!

I was about to suggest the same thing. I was able to get Art of Shaving samples at the Nordstrom's in the mall where I live. However, most of the products I see talked about on this site are not available in brick and motar stores near me.

Here's one theard:

In my first newbie days (i.e., 5 months ago) I sent emails to many vendors requesting samples. My success was very limited:
Trumpers sends lovely samples (but you have to pay about $6 postage to the U.S.), Shiseido sent a little stuff, but nothing too exciting, Ems place sent a little unscented SC and some cologne samples, I think Floris sent some nice stuff as well, and AOS sent a few small samples.

You should probably try to get one of the newbie kits that's about to become available in the decant store.

Looks like I'm outta luck then. Thanks for the info. Have to stick with cow manure and Skin Bracer. :/

There are some decants available for really good prices here:

Seriously, send off for some samples. The Trumpers samples come to about $6 for S&H (with the exchange rate), and I thought it was totally worth it, considering they give you both of their skin foods, along with the creams (4 of them). Floris gives an incredibly generous free sample kit. All 3 creams with matching AS balms, as well as many of their colognes. I got a small sample from T&G (their Ultimate Comfort oil, cream, and AS balm) - nothing overwhelming, but free, and you see how great their product lathers.
AOS has told me twice now that they were dropping a sample kit in the mail, but I haven't received anything yet (they told me it would be a couple of weeks back in August).
But for the price, you also can't go wrong trying out some of the soap goddess soaps. The Honeybee soaps are only $3.29 each, and Mama Bear and Saint Charles Shave (these are the three I have tried) are all very cheap and work great. If you end up not liking them, you shouldn't have much problem selling or trading them here.

Truefitt & Hill is also good about sending samples. It may help to know exactly what you want to try. Call the toll free number or email. The woman I dealt with (whose name escapes me, but she's the head honcho there) was great to deal with.
