View Full Version : Ever Ready 1924 Problem
Just acquired an Ever Ready 1924, cleaned it up, sanitized it and put in a new blade, and then discovered that one of the left lower blade tabs is missing.
Any suggestion on how to fix or what to do with the razor now.
Thanks.

Pics would help. Depending on how bad it is it may not be worth the effort to try and fix it.

I'll see your may not be and raise a definitely not.
Unless this razor has sentimental value, like, acquired from your grandfather, it is almost certainly easier to get a new one. They are dirt cheap.

I'd just toss the frame and hold onto the handle, it may come in handy sometime.

The reason I wanted to see it before passing final judgement is that the stop may just be flattened down into the guard. If that's the case it can be very gently pried back up into place. If it's actually missing, on the other hand, then I'd just move on.

Gents, thanks for the input, the stop is missing, so i will take Tom's advise and move on.

Sorry to hear it!
This one, 1924 I think, is still under 10 bucks BIN and still available....
and both stops are present!

FWIW, I always look carefully at pictures to see if the blade stops are present and in good order. If I can't see them clearly, I wouldn't bid unless it was dirt cheap! Or really rare. I might be wrong, but I think they get chipped off with the Micromatics a bit more frequently than the stamped metal kinds, e.g. 1912 & 1924.
