OK guys, my pack from Rick came with

Olive - 12 µm
Blue - 9 µm
Black - 5 µm
Lavender - 3 µm
Green - 1 µm
White - 0.3 µm

Now, I tend to forget the order of them, so I'm looking for a neumonic to help me remember. I'm still figuring things out, so I've been skipping white, and blue and black both start with "BL", so if I flip blue to azure...

(no offense intended to those in the finance industry, it just was the first thing that linked up in my head).

Changing color names as you desire, and including White if you'd like, what phrase/sentence can you make to remind us all the order of the sheets? I realize that this might be lapping-film-brand specific and you might like interstitial grits from these (like 2 micron), so modify as you find correct to your brand/whim. I believe these are from SPCFiber, from specialized.net

Just some fun on a Sunday night...

I just use a magic marker and write the grits directly on the films.

Yeah, but that's not fun.

Awwww come on...taking the easy way out!!!

Of course that makes sense, I just found as I snip them to size, i'm too lazy to keep writing sizes on them. Yeah I know, spew the back with the size many many times when it is a large piece (I do that with sandpaper), but...I'm just a dork I guess.

Yeah, but that's not fun.
I have enough pneumonics in my head, I don't need another one, I just wrote 1,2,3 in the order to be used.

I only use the Lavendar and green, so it's

Let's
Go!

I'm not great with these, but it seems like a lot of magic happens when you get to the lavender.

Yes. I've never been a fan of the black. The grit comes off too easily, which creates a synth slurry of sorts. The lavender and green are much better bonded to the Mylar, and I like the rapid refinement that they bring to the process.

So, you can go from a 1K stone straight to the 3um film and not use the 5?

I go from my DMT 1200 direct to 3um. The 5um is a definite step backwards in edge quality.

My progression is here:

Ive wondered why everyone is using all those grits, the dmt bevel set to 3um to 1um is perfect.

I don't touch any other stone or hone if I use films. Black is faster than my Chosera 1k and leaves a similar finish It sets the bevel just fine.
