Hey team,

So I posted my intro here in late March. Only been DE shaving since mid/late March...hell, just learned a good lather in the past week or two. I finally had a nick free WTG first shave a week or two ago...so I got overconfident.

An amusing story...so I had heard of the four pass shave and had seen a handful of varying methods. I guess I'm a bit impatient...I hadn't watched any of the videos and thought I'd be different...I'd be that guy. And I think the only reason I thought I was that guy is cause I'm finally not cutting myself on my first WTG of the day. I have never done two WTGs and thought I would be rocking it after one WTG and then heading straight to the first ATG.

You can imagine how it went. A horror movie has less blood.

Anyway, long story short, it made me do some more research and realize multiple WTGs could be quite helpful. Did two WTG passes today (and to be honest, that might suffice for me, as I didn't realize the improvement on the second WTG)...and half-assed the XTG. Pretty damn good.

I want to recover from last week's catastrophe before I try any more ATGs..but I do see the wisdom of the forums here.

Thanks team!

You should stick with what works FOR YOU. Don't worry about what others have to say, just get your own method together and stick with it.

Cheers. Just wanted to spread the fact that my initial thoughts didn't work for me and that some group knowledge helped a bit. I'll update a few months down when my technique has been perfected. :)

Go Rangers!

I think you're right, listen to the advice to guide your early days, adapting it your style. I found that patience and discipline helped, just like learning any other skill... Shooting baskets, playing the piano, etc.

You might try across the grain before trying against again. Remember to not use too much pressure.

What up homie!

Glad the wisdom of the collective helped. Keep at it and your shaves will improve.

Go Knicks!

To begin with 2 WTG passes was the best advice I got.
