I first tried MWF last summer but had lathering problems so I put away. I've been loving Mike's Natural Soaps lately, the tallow and lanolin have made my face very happy. So this AM I pulled out my MWF and gave it a shot. Well my lathering ability has greatly improved, The Fat EXPLODED on my #6 Horse and I had great lather! I now understand the love MWF gets, BBS shave and my face feels wonderful. Damn I'm glad I pulled that puck out today!

I took a break from Mitchell's to try a few shaving sticks, and when I went back to it, I felt the same way.

I went back and forth with it for awhile, until it just suddenly started to work better. Once I finally got that super thick lather I was hooked!

Good for you. MWF is a great soap, I have it in my rotation and when I use it the resulting shave is always great. :thumbup1:

First rule of shave club: Never throw out any product or sell it (you'll come back to it in the future and love it)
Second rule of shave club: Never throw out any product or sell it (you'll come back to it in the future and love it)

I just used the Fat tonight. Whipped it up with my Tulip 3 in my BIG silver bowl. MOUNDS of great lather.

@jkh....lmfao made me get beer in my nose while reading it

But as far as MWF goes, I did the exact same thing cryhavoc. Got a sample of it when I first started wet shaving and couldn't get it to lather so I gave up. Got a puck of it last week in a trade deal and now i love it. Probably my second fav soap now. (nothing will ever top my Tabac!)

If you can lather MNS, you can lather MWF, and vice versa. The common wisdom -- drench the puck, then load the brush slowly and for a long time -- applies to both.

PS: Let's add MNS (Mike's Natural Soaps) to the abbreviations wiki (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/index.php/Abbreviations#content), shall we? Let's face it, Mike's here to stay. At least I hope so -- they're great soaps! And they come from Brooklyn!

Where is the best place to buy MWF? I saw someone in a different thread said that there is a vendor who sells refills for ~$10 shipped...

MWF has been one of those soaps that I also initially tried and couldn't understand the hype. The key for me has been to ensure my brush does not have too much water before I load it on the soap. I also recently started face lathering with the MWF as opposed to using my Dirty Bird Scuttle. Additionally I ensure that I don't leave too much water on my face when I rince between passes. Since I started this new routine, my shaves have been much better with the MWF.
