View Full Version : Brush Suggestion

I usually face lather with a Rooney Heritage 2 XL brush, and use a Georgetown scuttle just to keep the brush warm. I have occasionally used the scuttle to lather up creams or to whip up some uber lather. My current brush is too short to use with the scuttle.
Any recommendations for a brush with a longer handle to use on the scuttle?

Are you looking to stick with 2 band?

No, I am open to anything.

My Rooney 3/2 has a longer handle with decent backbone for a three band badger, I find it's very versatile

Semogue 1305 - it has a long and distinctive handle, and IMHO boars appreciate scuttles more than badgers.

This forum is full of enablers, and you are making it harder and harder for me to resist getting an SOC.

Come on. The boars are so cheap everyone should give them a shot. the SOC is one of the finest boar options out there and it prices in at or below most entry level badgers. The only thing is you need to give them a little bit of time to break in properly. If you stay with them, they pay off. I've got about a dozen quality Simpsons brushes and find myself using those 2 boars most mornings.

For bowl lathering I would actually opt for the Semogue 2000. It is the best boar for that IMHO.
Probably one of the Polo series springs to mind if you want to stick with Badger.

to me, it's the best bang for the buck boar out there. performs like a champ, nice handle, once broken in, it's a beauty.
i got one about a month ago from VC and it's one of my current favorites.

Just ordered a Semogue 2000 for the bowl, if it works out I will upgrade to the SOC! I mean $20 for a brush. Not bad!

sorry, can't help you there. i have a small hand towel hook, that i use as my brush hanger. doesn't work with my Thater (octo handle), but works on most others.
never falls out, has a nice lip to secure most brushes with this type of handle.
