I picked up a Palladium Joris on the BST last week and gave it a test run yesterday morning. I was a little short for time but I had 3 days to take off and really wanted to give it a try. Some TFS Tabacco Verde with my Ehsan and a Schick Plus Platinum seemed like good insurance.
I took a deep breath, told myself not to rush and went ahead with 3 passes. Then I went to touch up under the jaw and neck. There wasn't anything to touch up! With amazement, I rinsed my face and found I had the closest, "most BBS" shave I could ever recall. It was truly an effortless shave.
It's just what I wanted the R41 to be, but could never achieve. I still don't need a shave 24 hrs later. I hope it wasn't a lucky fluke!

Welcome to the Joris club.....
No fluke,I got mine from Bullgoose Saturday, very smooth shave,I did my first headshave with it today, and I needed no touch up's.I did a 3 pass face, one pass head shave and I got BBS all around with no irritation or burn.I like my r41 Grande but I feel it's too aggressive for headshaves. The Joris is aggressive but smooth at the same time.

Not a fluke. The Joris is an awesome razor.
I participated in the Joris tour and was very reluctant to have to part with the razor when the tour was done. Very nice, smooth shaver. I didn't find it "aggressive" at all but it was very, very "efficient."
I may have to sell off a bunch of other stuff and save up to fund a Joris purchase.

Well there was no reason to shave yesterday evening or this morning, so I'm going to give it another go tonight. Maybe a little MdC and since I'm covered in dirt and sawdust from topping the cedars I need a good scrub so I'll put the Caravela into action.

After a very luxurious whisky bath, I decided to whip up some of my World Famous Pink Frosting™. Recipe as follows for you thrill seekers: Connaught's LE Rose cream(It's a friggin soap if ya ask me), 4 drops Bulgarian Rose Otto, 4 drops Glycerin, and a half serving of GFT Rose cream. I whip that up in a silver bowl with my lovely Caravela someone here was so nice to sell to me. It's best kept warm in a Silver bain-marie.
Scrub that into the old greasy mug and then lay it on like a Pastry chef. Shave. Wonderful.
I have to report that this Joris razor Paul so nicely sold me is simply a fantastic instrument. Effortless shave. Smoother than an android's bottom folks.

I hope mine gets here before the weekend so that I can take it for a nice leisurely spin around the neck...

It's the best thing I've driven over a neck so far Turtle. Which handle did ya get?
If you ordered it from Phil it's probably already in your mailbox.

You know, I was on the Joris tour, too, and I liked it, but more to look at than to shave.
I still believe that the Gillette Old Type is a better value, with an equal shave.

Is there any real difference in the Joris and Fatip head performance? Obviously the finish is nicer and the handle is different as well. I have a Fatip and it shaves me much closer than anything else I've tried but will draw blood if I let my guard down for a millisecond.
