Sweet good God - this is what it's all about.

I've only really been at this for a couple of months, but in that time I've acquired DE razors like pacman in a room full of yellow dots - hoping to find the white whale of shaving perfection for me. The shaves have all been better than carts - without question - but there has been burn and irritation. The whole experience and ritual has been driving me and making it all worthwhile though.

Tonight however - I achieved a state of grace in shaving :)

Today, my birthday razor finally arrived from eBay. I paired that short handled 1971 black beauty up with a new Feather - my first Feather I might add - and I have finally achieved a burn and irritation free shave. I was beginning to think I was missing something or that all your faces here are made of hard leather, but diggety.... it really does happen.

Faceturbating like mad. Wish I could shave again tonight. It was/is that good.

To all you new folks out there - stick with it. I hope you too find your white whale. Call me Ishmael ;)

Cheers,

Ace

I have been using Gillette 7 o'clock yellows for the past 2 months or so but have 8 feathers ( my first blade in a DE) left. My last shave was on a dead Gillette so maybe after much practice i will give the feather a shot again! Thanks for the inspiration :balloon:

Well, it sounds like you have a healthy case of RAD. You should fit right in around here.

I, too, tried the Feathers and really enjoyed them before I decided to try and use up some other shaving materials. It was just after I tried a few and liked them that I started coming here and found out the reputation Feathers have for biting the unwary. I wouldn't have guessed it on my own.

Faceturbating like mad.

I do that every morning during my drive to work!

Thanks 4 sharing... I haven't used a feather blade but I do know it's reputation of being the sharpest. I plan on trying the feather when I improve my technique on face & dome.
