Pretty much my typical shave these daves with the only rotation being a different soap or a blade to clean out my stock of things I won't replace:

Merkur 38C with Merkur blade
Simpsons Chubby 1 in Super
Harris Arlington soap :thumbup1:
Aqua Velva
Trumpers Coral Skin Food

I'll go back to creams and something other than the Chubby someday - Just having too much fun and too many good shaves with Chubby & face lathering. The Chubby has broken in quite nicely but remains scritchy-scrubby compared to B&B 06 and that's cool with me.

Note I suggest people get in the habbit of indicating the year when referencing their B&B brush given that B&B 07 is on the way!!!!!

The DUKE did very well with this Luxury cream despite it's reputation as a top notch "soap brush". It (The Duke) is growing on me. I only wish the handle was just a tad longer and bulkier. I guess I'm used to the sumptuous handle of the Tulip 4 and the Duke 3 feels just a bit small in my hand. I suppose the Simpson Emperor in Best would be an alternative.... but then I might just find it's handle a tad too long....

did the full Kyle prep (a la Timmyboston's suggestion) and while I didn't notice too much of a difference during the shave, I have remained smooth for much longer than when I don't use the prep...very nice

A Taz Inspired Shave

Okay my first real straight shave.

I got my first shaving cut that hurt. I've had some real bleeders before but this is the first time in my life, I've felt pain from a shave. Very manageable pain, but pain nonetheless.

I didn't attempt my moustache area or parts of my neck, I finished those up with my DE. I didn't feel like dying while shaving, though I could think of worst ways to go.

Awesome shave with what is quickly becoming my favourite razor.

While I still lather directly on my face most days, I picked up one of the free-form mugs because I liked the unusual shape, I had been looking for a mug that had grooves for improved lather-bulding, and a bunch of us in the same area pooled our orders to get free shipping - so I got my mug for $29 delivered.

While I find the mug a little on the short side, the grooves make a difference and it helps me whip up amazing lather in no time.

Just from my experience, it gets easier. I'm now shaving with vintage razors I honed up myself. It's a great feeling of accomplishment.

Now you get to start an entirely new level of RAD, HAD (hone AD), & SAD (Strop AD). Ain't this a wonderful place? (Sigh)

Tried the Proraso cold, no warm bowl, and no matter what people say, I still enjoy it hot. It's a great feeling to go from one pass to the next as the coolness of Proraso is covered by the heat of the next lather. I'll stick with hot, if you haven't tried it, you should.

I have to admit, I'm a little curious to know what that smells like.

Basenotes members posted these reviews (http://www.basenotes.net/ID26125632.html) about Cannabis Santal. I get the smell of cannabis flowers, but can't identify the other scents... regardless, I like it. My concern is that as an EDP, I expect Cannabis Santal to have a lengthy longevity. Film at eleven.

I brought out the big guns today in hopes that my second injector shave would be better, and it definitely was. I think the Ted Pella blades calm down after the first use. It was definitely rougher than I'm used to while I was shaving (reminded me of a cartridge), but the result was almost BBS, with no irritation. I will definitely keep experimenting.

Getting better with the straight, going WTG and XTG is now easy, but I still rely on the DE for the ATG pass (I'm still traumatised by a horrible gash I got a month ago). :death:

Guys the Gillette 1904 was a grand shaver. Mild but it got me smooth in two passes with a 3 day Derby and no need for an ATG! Gillette should tool up and produce these three piece DEs. Even at today's prices they would be affordable and you could make them as ornate as you wanted to.

Tried French Green Claying right after my shave. Face felt incredible afterwards!

Awesome shave, and the green clay made things even better. YMMV, especially for you sensitive folks, albeit I have fairly sensitive skin myself. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the Trumper's Rose + T&H Lavender SC superlather. Also used C&E SAO SC + Tabac + T&H Lavender the other day, the smell was sensational and the lather insane!
