Oh W_Edgie, I ought to have you for reposting!
I was curious, where did you find this thing? And what's in all the other metal containers?

Very nice find! I have found a few kits in my travels but the razor is ALWAYS missing.

They're probably empty, but they were usually intended for a toothbrush, shave stick, brush, bar of soap and any other "wet" supplies you might be carrying.

Dare I ask, the big leather travel kit was an eBay score - no? Saw the same kit a bit ago and recall the monogram. Very nice score regardless!

bought at a local thrift store, that specializes in, of all things, vintage women clothes. but apparently has some neat finds sometimes. (they also had a much smaller travel case, but no razor in it for either 10 or 15 bucks. Should buy?) All the containers were empty save for the razor container, and the big rectangle one had some crazy old band-aids and (unused) q-tips. I'm curious if the e-bay auction had any info on it. I did a little research and found that the "saks fifth avenue" design with the dash is from the early 30's, and of course the wiki on dating razors here helped with the Gillette, (also early 30's) but would love to hear any info any one has. And uh, REDDIT!! lol

If it's in good condition you can usually recoup your $10 on a razor case - there are a lot of collectors who want period correct accessories for their razors who'll take it off your hands.
