all I have to say is this is why I can't stand the media. I bet whoever unearthed this story has been sitting on it until the time comes when it will garner the most attention. During the regular season nobody would have cared that Paul Byrd had taken HGH, in fact, I bet not many people even knew who Paul Byrd was. So with the Indians heading to the playoffs, I can just imagine the guy waiting for the perfect setting to release his "findings". I hope this gets buried behind a fantastic game 7
I still didn't know who Paul Byrd was, or what HGH was for that matter, I had to look it up. So to save people some time: Paul Byrd plays for the Cleveland Indians, a baseball team playing in the Major League (which I am guessing is the the league where the best teams play). HGH is short for human growth hormone, and it was an article in the San Fransisco Chronicle.
So... Athlete uses hormones. Isn't this where everyone says "duh"? It's sports with a lot of money involved, of course there are people taking hormones and whatnot.

I consider it a non story. It wasn't illegal when he bought it, it sounds like it was taken under the advice of an endocrinologist to treat a legitimate condition, and it doesn't sound like he did anything at all to hide it.
Disgusting timing.

Thankfully. Yet another reason why Boston winning is a good thing.
