Identify my lost razor

Hey guys,

When I started shaving with a DE razor, I looked all over my house to see if I could find the razor I had picked up somewhere at some time, but I couldn't. Anyway, I really liked the look of it, and want to get another one if I can find it. Problem is, I don't really know much about it. Here's what I do know:

-It's a Gillette DE razor
-It came in a case, which was covered in blue canvas, with silver print
-It divided in three parts, one being the handle, the other two the blade holder

Having looked at Achim's spotting guide, what I remember would resemble the '51 fat handle tech, or the '38-'45 fat handle tech the most.

Does anyone know anything that might help me further?

It sounds like you may be looking for a Tech razor. (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Tech)

Luckily those are plentiful. Do you recall if it was a U.S. model or maybe made in England?
The U.S. made Fat handled techs largely fall into before WWII with triangular lather holes or post war with long narrow holes with parallel straight sides. It's said that the earlier model was a touch more aggressive.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I took another look at Achim's site, and found this, which looks pretty much exactly like what I'm looking for:

Finding a replacement razor will be easy. If you want it nicely cased then it may take some time but I'm sure could be found on ebay or you could do a WTB (want to buy) ad here on B&B. I think you'll need to be around a bit before you can place the ad though.

You can post WTB whenever, you need the other prerequisites to offer FS items. Good luck, techs are plentiful and very nice shavers. I recently found an exquisite gold tech on the bay for $23 with shipping
