All SOLD , thanks B&B
Hey there, B&B brethren!
In an effort to make an experimental foray into the world of lapping film honing/touch-ups affordable, I'm trying to share some of my good fortune and I've put together a package. Well, a few actually. This is not a money-making venture for me, as I think you'll see. The components actually cost me a bit more than I'm charging. My "business model" is that I lose a little bit on each sale, but I make it up in volume.... :-)
So, if you want to try out some lapping film you can do so for little risk. The $35 includes an almost-shave-ready razor, a nicely cut 3/4-inch thick flat plate with non-skid feet, and two cut sheets (each) of 5, 3, and 1 micron lapping film. And, of course, shipping anywhere the USPS will send a domestic flat-rate box. The plate and sheet dimensions are 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches - the 8 1/4 length was selected to fit into a small flat rate box. The plate's not a cheap granite tile, but is a nice dense and heavy synthetic quartz product and I've eased the top edges. And the razor may not be pretty, but it will make a nice shaver. I added some photos and the razors in the photo are some of the actual razors I'll be including - others will be of similar quality and condition. But, the kit only includes one razor. In the group there's a Wosty, a De Roma, a Shumate, a Barhep Solingen, a Winner, a Capital Cutlery Van Camps American, an Edward Erk, an Imperial, and others. Some have patina, but there's no rust and no broken scales - they're all shavers. The razor you get will be unknown, but from this group.
I think you'll be pleased with the value and I'll refund the money of anyone who's not happy (if you'll pay the return shipping). I have enough decent razors, film and plates to put together 8 or 10 of these kits and they'll ship within 24 hours of purchase. International shipping is considerably more expensive, but I'm happy to send it for actual cost if any of you international folks want one.
Thanks all,
Ross
