I've heard this stuff praised repeatedly around here and finally broke down and picked up a sample. I was expecting great things, and was sadly disappointed. I didn't have any idea what it was really going to smell like, or how it would work, other than many say it smells really good and feels really good too.
I didn't think so.
First the scent... What scent? There is practically none in Lucky Tiger. It is a very faint orangey smell, if I practically huff it up my nose to find it. On skin if I manage to catch a wiff it's gone in seconds. The scent has potential to be really pleasing and fragrant, it's just not there. As a citrus it would be characteristically fleeting, but mere seconds?
As for face feel, it's fine, but in no way a standout. No alcohol burning, if you like that sorta thing. It's a tiny bit thicker than a splash. To be honest it felt just like Thayers Witch Hazel. Had about the same effect too. That's ok, but I was expecting a teeny bit more.
Obligatory YMMV. What do you guys think?

I like it because it doesn't burn. I have so many other aftershaves in my collection that will light my hair on fire, it's nice to have an alternative. The scent is very nice, but doesn't last too long. This can be a good thing if you don't want your cologne or EdT to clash with your aftershave.

The reasons you gave are exactly the reasons I love it. Very mild, quickly disappearing scent that doesn't clash with cologne. And a very moisturizing clean feeling, witch hazel finish.

I think the lack of scent is a selling point, not a flaw.

Ive been really wanting to try Lucky Tiger since Im not a huge fan of strong scented after shaves and for the natural ingredients ,but the price is what puts me off from buying it.

I view it more as a toner than an aftershave. I like the light citrus scent, but I don't use it as a stand-alone aftershave, so I don't mind that it's so light and fleeting.
I don't think I'll buy it again - it isn't as good a toner as Thayer's, and it isn't as nice an aftershave as some others. If you want one product that does both, you could do worse.

Thanks, I've never tried it and now probably won't. I do like at least some scent in an AS balm.

Garry's Sample Shop (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/279758-Garry-s-Sample-Shop-March-Updates%21?p=3965761#post3965761). You can try it and some others without paying for large quantities.

is the staying power more or less than 4711? y'know, if anything can actually be shorter...

Yeah I use Lucky Tiger after I shave, then I use an aftershave balm. But I love the stuff
I feel exactly the same. Made a good toilet bowl cleaner along with the Williams shave soap I flushed the other day.

Oh it's way shorter than 4711. The scent in LT is really mild on application, and it's gone entirely once it dries on your face, so if you're expecting a well-scented aftershave then you'll feel short-changed.

It's an aftershave the way witch hazel is an aftershave: natural and very soothing. It goes great with orange scented colognes like 4711, and Musgo Real Agua de Colonia #1 and #3.

Lucky Tiger is great stuff but you do not wear it for the scent. I have never found anything that calms down razor burn better than this. I usually follow it with a cologne.

Lucky Tiger aftershave and face tonic ifs a different type of aftershave.. Its has more conditioning properties than bracing...If you want scent, buy a cologne or traditional AS splash. Even the best scented AS balms don't last very long....The lucky tiger brand has other AS splashes that have all the stink and burn you want in an aftershave, and dirt cheap too... Lucky Tiger AS and shave tonic has its place for me, on days I don't want drying alcohol on my skin, and want something lighter than.balm
Perhaps you should peruse the fragrance forum........
