Hi all,

I got my hands on a few packs of Super Iridium blades and since I started shaving with DE blades just about a year ago these blades were discontinued before I even got started.

I was hoping that some of you more experienced people in here would help me look at some pictures of the blades and packaging and let me know if they seem real or not.

Thanks!

Well, the fakes I've seen before were marked "Distributed by Broctor & Hamble." Can't precisely see that edge of your box, but it doesn't look so blatantly faked.

They're on the facebook page... These blades look real to me, the big glue spots is a dead giveaway...

P.S. There are more fun pics in this thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/188454-How-to-spot-a-fake-Iridium-Super-Extra-Stainless) (which is also found in the "Similar Threads" section at the bottom of this here thread).

It doesn't make any sense, the pirates :pirate: go to the trouble of copying the boxes and stamping the blades, but purposely misspell a bunch of words on the boxes! That obvious subterfuge isn't going to make the blades less illegal, it just makes them easier to spot!

We have our fair share of counterfeit Chinese paraphernalia here in Pakistan. The thing is that without an exception, there is always a telltale spelling mistake present giving them away. My theory is that the Chinese government has this policy in place that allows the shady companies to indulge in these practices but have to give the target audience a fighting chance by willfully including these phonetic blemishes. If you consider the picture posted above by man00ver, the mistakes seem almost comically intentional. The Chinese are some of the smartest, most ingenious people on the planet and I don't think their counterfeiters would fail to correct this glaring recurring fault in their product.

Thanks for all replies!

man00ver: Ah, I should have posted another picture with a clear view of the side of the box, but it looks exactly like the authentic one in your picture. No Brocter & Hamble here :)

Anyone else have an opinion?

I read somewhere that the glue spots were more like grease on fake SI:s and I'm not sure how sticky the glue sould be? The glue on my blades sure isn't that very sticky but can be smeared out easily over the blade. That's what makes me a little bit worried...

Any other advise will be very much appreciated!
