Anyone own this? Thoughts?

I owned it a few years ago. The scent is very subdued and faint. It does not lather well but does feel slick. I was not a fan. I do hear that it was reformulated some time ago.

Thanks for reply. Anyone else?
I hope it doesn't smell dated. I've heard comparisons of the almondy italian barbershop thing with this fragrance and some similarities to the greatest fragrance ever created (pronounced "La Mall")

I bought some a few weeks ago but haven't yet tried it, so I can't help you too much... :001_unsur
I did quite a bit of reading before getting it, though; it has a pretty good rep. The smell is pretty mild but pleasing to me--a little almond-ish but a clean, soap smell. If you haven't looked yet, do a search and there are a few threads here on B&B.
One thing that is odd--the weight is listed at 250gm, but that is gross weight, including the packaging. The soap itself is only about 175gm...honestly, I doubt that it is worth the premium price considering all the good stuff out there. I have a number of new soaps/creams so I just haven't gotten to it yet!

Thanks. Just to clarify I bought the EDT cologne. I have seen the BnB threads regarding the soap. Common theme is that it is good but high priced and perhaps other scents would be better when cost is a consideration. The cologne is expensive too -- $125 for 100 ml.

Doh! Sorry, this is the fragrance forum! :sleep1:
I totally forgot they even made a cologne. Now I'm interested in hearing what you think--please let us know how you like it!

It should be arriving tomorrow or next day so I will update the forum!
I remember reading that tobacco is a note in this cologne, and tobacco is most definitely NOT a note in the shaving soap. Looking forward to your update!

If you like Le Male you'll probably like this one too. If you wish to expand on the same theme try MPH by Washington Tremlet or Antico Caruso by Profumum Roma. Last one is better than the rest put together. Panama would be on a second place for me.

You piqued my interest on the Antico Caruso and that lasted until I saw on luckyscent that it's $240 for 100 ml. WHOA. At least the Panama was only $125 also for 100 ml!

Yes, the price is not popular.
this is a big bold frag. lasts forever. big tobacco, a bit sweet. I like it a lot. the woman said "No, it's old man." It's not so simple, but not complex either. I don't feel it is refined enough for the price, but it's darn nice - classic like aqua di parma, but a punch in the face instead of soft.
yeah, I know, I'm no help.

Arrival time now tomorrow. How can it be Old mannish and also like Le Male?
I dont like scents that are too tobacco. Not a fan of Lutyens fumerie torque and odori tabbaco.

Have it now and initial impression: I like it!
Panama is like a refined Le Male. It dials up tobacco (but too much, not a dirty ashtray tobacco which I would not like) and dials down the vanilla (not overly sweet as a result). But same theme overall as Le Male. Not same sillage as LE Male, but only few scents do so that is not a negative. Cant speak to longevity as I just put it on my skin. I'm happy with this purchase. I would suggest it to those who like Le Male but want something that is less bold and brash (sillage), a bit more mature (in a good way....I know some find the sweetness of Le Male to make it more of a younger crowd scent), and perhaps less synthetic (not sure what this means but it's a frequent knock given to Le Male). I like Le Male a ton, but I could see wearing Panama to work much easier, as a late 30's guy who wears a dress shirt and tie in the office. Plus there's a difference there that you're not wearing what everyone else is wearing which is probably more a psychological plus than a real one.
Now I really want to try Antico Caruso by Profumum based on Lamb Root's comments. Anyone know if it's available anywhere as a decant?
I KNOW I KNOW I found a gem in Panama and now I'm already plotting my next target in AC.

Le Male 1924. I took a 5 ml atomizer and filled it with just under 2.5 ml of Le Male and 2.5 ml of Panama 1924. The goal is to make a layered scent that is Le Male like but a bit more work friendly. Goal is to cut down on the sweetness and massive sillage of Le Male and add some uniqueness to it (since Le Male is such a well known scent). However, I wonder if the Le Male is simply overpower the Panama 1924 and my ratio should have been 1:3 instead of 1:1.
I will not make a similar blend with Antico Caruso, however, since it is so expensive and I don't want to mess with my decant.

Smells like Le Male. No surprise as Le Male plus Boellis, which smells like a refined Le Male will lead to Le Male. I am just hoping it has a less pronounced silage to make it more work-friendly. I really like the Le Male scent, I just don't want to be "that guy" wearing something more potent.
I had initially bought Le Male Summer, but realized it was not just less silage but actually was not the same scent and a diluted-in-a-bad-way version of Le Male.
I'm looking forward to my Reflection Man decant to arrive.

The soap is ok. Nothing special for the price. IMO Cella is superior.
