Does anybody know of any useful shaving apps for Android or Apple products?
I mainy mean apps related to shaving culture or vendors.
I've searched and searched but find none useful or are not games or foney electric razor apps.

I'm an avid Android guy, but I can't imagine any shaving-related app that would interest me. The closest that I come to that is reading Michael Ham's book through the Kindle app.

I have been thinking about this, too. I was thinking of writing a shaving app to help maintain a shave log/diary and product inventory, but I ended up just making a Numbers spreadsheet that serves my needs pretty well.

Maybe a data base of dates & pics, something so if I'm in an anitique store and don't know what I've found, I could look? Sites like Mr Razor's are great on a PC, but I can't tell much on my iPhone.

Not what you are looking for, but there is a little fun game called Shave Me. You even get a straight razor in your arsenal of toys. I can't for the life of me figure out how to actually shave without causing lots of razor burn, and cuts though.

Late last year I released a free app called MrCombo (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mrcombo/id489265191) (iTunes link). It can do some of the shave log / inventory stuff, pick a shave for you, and share it over email or wordpress. Right now it is only available on iOS, but I am working on other platforms.
Here are a couple shots of random shaves that the app selected for me. I got my shave den into it by copying sections of my gear from my wiki page into the "bulk add" screen. That was much easier than typing it all into the iphone keyboard.

I've long wanted some kind of a mobile site. It doesn't have to be an app, but it would be nice. It would be nice to take pictures from your phone and upload them into posts.

This weekend I was trying to track B&B on my ipod touch, and thought a mobile version of the site would be really nice!

A mobile skin, or tapatalk compatibility.
Though, once I realized the button to change from a WYSIWYG to plain text editor was there, it got much easier to post from my tablet.

Mobile site would be nice. Loads faster, easier to see, easier to navigate with your phone, but it takes a lot of time to optimize a site for smart phones. Its tough to figuare out what to leave out and what to keep.
Still and all, would love to see a mobile site.

A mobile app has been discussed a few times before and was determined (IIRC) to be too much work for the return. HOWEVER, if you d/l the Opera webbrowser, it has an option to turn everything into a mobile site. It's pretty cool actually, in that it uses the opera servers as a proxy to compress your pages before downloading them to the phone thus saving you tons on data usage if you have a limited plan. There's little to no noticeable difference in d/l speeds, btw.
edit: Almost forgot... there does, however, seem to be an issue with Opera's rending of B&B (which doesn't seem to exist for other sites) wherein you can't post to B&B from within Opera's mobile mode. The input boxes are all garbled.

That is pretty cool -- almost exactly what I had in mind.
I was thinking it would be nice if it could generate a "SOTD" text block that you could then copy and paste into the SOTD thread.
I'll have to check out the app when I get home today!

Ahh, I thought I was the only one with that problem.... good to know that it's not just me!

Thanks! I'm going to try this out tomorrow. I'll probably create another combo category for my SE shaves, since I can't load GEMs into my DE razors.
