My eldest, 8, wanted to lather up & shave today, and of course, his little brother, 5, did also. Here they are. The lather was mostly gone by the time SWMBO got here with her camera.

That is cool Jonnie, maybe they will avoid the horrors of cartridge shaving. BTW, your son in the second picture looks very similar to Ken as a child, at least from the profile.

Very nice Johnnie. You could never start too early in passing on some real nice traditions to your kids.

That freaked me out! I just noticed how much his son looks like me as a kid...I swear I thought it was a picture of one of us as a kid.....
But cool pic Johnnie.... Nice to share those moments and memories with our kids.... I'm spending the weekend with my daughter.... Even at almost 21, it is nice to share even simple moments with our kids

My boys did the same thing at relatively similar ages, over 40 years ago, however, and both opted for the modern wasteful route, using disposable razors, whether I gifted them sets with replaceable blades or not. Elsewhere here, I've noted that disposable anything, other than tissue type products, has always seemed wrong, and glass bottle deposits seemed much more proper than plastic bottles or aluminum cans. Razor blades disappeared out of sight into that slot in the cabinet, and cost comparatively little. I've not ever bought any disposable razors. even as convenient for travel as they may be, for my own use.
I thought I'd set a good example for them, B-U-T apparently not.

Kiwi, +1 on the glass bottles. It doesn't matter what's inside, brew, soda, milk, or ......... they all tase better, IMHO that is.
Yeah, me too. I think most all dad's like to see their young son's with a bit of lather on their BBS cheeks :thumbup1:, I know I did. My youngest son, when he was around 3-4, would beg my dad, "pa pa awn shate". Begging my dad to shave him. So dad would lather him up, take the blade out of his razor [Bryan didn't know the difference], and proceed to shate him. On my wife's camera, I have some pics of my grandson lathering up, and shaving with a play set he got for Christmas. Don't be surprised if/when you see it as my Avatar.
jb & bill, thanks for posting the pics, they're priceless.

Great to see you prepping the next generation of shavers! But really, Johnnie: that angle on your kid's chin, with a Featherweight? Way off! Never too early to start teaching good habits, I say. :001_tt2:

He is a little steep isn't he?? What you couldn't see was him going back and forth across his chin, rather than down!
