I heard sometime ago that Dorco was producing a cartridge razor that would have six blades. Well, it has finally arrived, and I know everyone at B&B will make this their first acquisition of Christmas! It is available in the Korean market, but not sure about anywhere else yet. It is called the Pace 6.

You can see it here (http://kor.dorco.co.kr/Front/product/productA.asp?mode=read&idx=185&tbl_category1=10&tbl_category2=11&tbl_category3=).

I went to the link, changed the language to English and found out they sell "straights (http://eng.dorco.co.kr/product/set.asp?num=11&code=KNCL)" too  :001_tt2:.

Wow! If I can shave this good with one blade, SIX blades must be even better!

A company named Dorco is producing a six bladed razor? Is today April 1st or am I missing something?

Anyone ever try that toy thingy, what was grid of (dull) pins and you stuck your face into it and you'd get a facsimile of your face on the other side as the pins where pushed out?

What if we make one of those but with blades instead, like say, 9 columns of 60. You take the block and push your face into it, all the blades would adjust and tilt to the contours of your face, then you hit the power button and the 540 blades shimmer up and down, thus giving you a shave fit for a king.

What do you think? How long before the marketing guys top this one?

I just can't wait for Nigel Tufnel to be the spokesperson for a razor saying "mine goes to 11". THAT is a razor I would buy. Anything in between one blade and 11 is pure rubbish. Don't touch it. Don't even look at it. :a5:

Actually, I could be wrong, but I believe a company called Dorco used to make some very respected straights...

That's similar to an idea on the radio show Genius. It was dismissed for probably killing someone.

The only gimmick I can see left now is for oddly shaped blades, rippled or something.

i think technologicly speaking, the closest thing to a "perfect smooth" shave should be a disolving cream, the problem is that they are quite harsh on the skin and not exactly safe to use,

i some times admire women for putting up with that crap,

but the main problem about multiblades is still lubrication, you have a razor with 3 blades, the first one goes over the lather, the other 2 go over raw skin, so you can make a blade with 2 blades, or with 500 blades, it still dosnt solve the lathering issue, philips tried to solve the issue with their "ejaculating" electric shaver, but then again, an electric that gives a smooth shave is like a combustion engine that dosnt pollute, rare and far between,

and if you add a lubricated layer the blade, well, it kind of loses its ability to remove hair, making it kind of pointless.

I'm holding out for one with 8 blades, where each blade has 8 other, smaller blades on it.

Well then why not just grab one of the ten packs of Dorco's:
http://eng.dorco.co.kr/product/zoom.asp?num=67
hold them all together with Vise Grips and drag the whole lot across your face at once? That would be 10 blades all together!:001_tt2:

The world will never understand the simple DE.

The DORCO DE blades I have tried are very dull (came in an orange wrap). So I guess 6 of them makes up for the lack of sharpness!

Dorco does make good straights from what I've heard, I don't have one yet... but you never know...

If I have to switch out a disposable anything... not worth the time... I'll stick with my straights.

Dorko (Solingen) != Dorco (S. Korea)

Dorko (Solingen) != Dorco (S. Korea)

Thank you. I was thinking something did not look quiet right about the name.... I just couldn't place what.

Is Dorko totally out of business? Because if not, they should be protecting their IP a little more.
