View Full Version : Websites not publishing negative shaving product reviews?!

Hi everyone,

Just a minor irritation I wanted to see if anybody has come across. ! I won't name any names but a certain large Irish shaving website has a review section which I have left a few reviews on, some positive, some negative and some pretty neutral. These reviews have all been honest, I have tried the products I'm reviewing and if I like them I say I like them and if I don't I say I don't. Now what irks me is that they publish my positive reviews and not my negative reviews, therefore making the review feature redundant. I don't see the point in having a review/rating system if only positive reviews are published. Since I've noticed this I no longer leave any product reviews and I'm also a bit wary of ordering from a website that is less than one hundred per cent honest. Has anybody else noticed this? Maybe I'm just a bad reviewer! :001_unsur

It's the nature of reviews hosted on a vendor's site. Nobody wants to host somebody's review stating that a product is rubbish.

The only way to get close to honest feedback is to look at social media, such as forums. Thankfully, B&B is largely free from "trolls" so the reviews you see here are genuine.

That sounds shady to me. I would really not trust any reviews on that site anymore!

If they only show reviews that bring them sales, then all you achieve is doing their job for them, providing the sales pitch. They should pay you commission for that!
I would stop leaving product reviews too under the circumstances. It's a shame, but that's how it is.

...Cigars International does the same thing....... they won't publish negative comments on the cigars they sell....

.....i am guessing that the "...large Irish shaving website ..."********.?

Yes, please name names so that we all know whom not to trust.

Mod Note:
Gents,
If you would like to respectfully review a vendor and/or the service you received- then this is the appropriate place for that.

However, what happens at other shaving forums has no bearing on B&B, we request that you leave what happens elsewhere at the door of B&B.

If you feel there is an issue at another shave forum, we suggest you contact the owner or admins and share your concern directly.

Thank you-

Apologies, I'll let this thread die. Feel free to delete if you wish. I just wanted to make people aware that just because a product they are thinking of buying has all positive reviews doesn't necessarily mean that that product ACTUALLY has all positive reviews!

Once again, apologies.

Have a great day,

Martin

Martin, respectful reviews are very welcome here at the B&B. As you said only positive reviews are worthless.
