I don't know if anyone else has tried this stuff, but I'm confused. There is no discernable menthol at all! At least I can't smell any. Just a light almost citrusy scent. I was looking for a Proraso substitute, but it's no contest.

At any rate, Derby creams are perfectly servicable, and a GREAT price, but they can't compare to higher end creams like Proraso.

Agreed.

Question for you though... why look for a proraso substitute? It's pretty good, inexpensive stuff.

Amen on the Proraso. If you have a Bath and Body Works nearby, you can even pick it up (C. O. Bigelow name, but same stuff) for $10 and don't have to pay S&H.

Inexpensive is in the eye of the beholder I guess. $10 is a decent price, but I can't seem to find any around here locally. I've tried Target and B&B Works. They just kind of look at me funny when I ask about shaving cream in a tube. S&H from most online stores is $8. The cheapest I can find with S&H is $16.

Kenyth, Proraso(CO Bigelow) is in both of the of the Bath & Body Works store fronts in my area. If you would like I could find out what the stock number is so that a Bed & Bath near you can order it for you. I payed $10 plus Pa state sales tax.
