Big Fellow just arrived

Just taken delivery of my Big Fellow in time for Open Comb March. The serial number is M129862 is that 1921? The razor is in near mint condition as is the blade holder. Box also in great condition.

Terrific razors and I love those wood cases.

If the case needs some sprucing up, don't be afraid to clean it with some oil soap and then then shine it up with some paste wax.

Well tried the "Big Fellow" this morning. A great experience. I have used the 'old heads' before as I have a number of ABC sets. What sets this razor apart is the handle and weight. Absolutely love it. OC March is looking to be a great month.

That is a beautiful razor....one of my top desires for future razor purchase. I really love the wooden display boxes used with the Big fellow and the Richwood....not to hi jack the thread, but I wonder if anyone any of our vendors have ever considered making a wooden display box for sell?? I know I would purchase a few for some of my razors.

Enjoy!!Here's mine. (it was custom made though) :drool: The real deal original is one of Gillette's finest. Surely some of the nicest made during the era. I've seen a photo somewhere showing the people making the cases. The labor and detail that went into every component is stunning. They don't make them like they used to. Unless you commission the job... Nothing off the rack today compares to Gillette's early high end pieces!!

They are awesome shavers, I don't use a DE often (straights 98% of the time), but I have to say this one really is superb!
