After waiting and waiting.. and then struggling to get to the Post before it closed, I FINALLY got my Kamisori today. I have been having issues with Google all day, so the pics I have posted are the ones that actually came through.
It seems the maker stamp is on the wrong side.
It shaves the hair on my arm, but fails the HHT. NOT shave ready.. dernit.
Anyway, here is what I have been waiting for. My first straight - and can't wait!

Paul

Hope these are enough to get an idea. Any idea what the script is on the blade?
I think the mark is on the correct side. I have no idea what it says, though.

Throwing caution to the wind after failing the HHT, I could not wait any more. I decided that I just HAD to give it a try... sigh.
Just went in and prepped and lathered up my cheeks - just for a go at it. SWMBO was sitting right there watching.
First straight - watched the videos, read everything... had to try.
WTG.... even 'dull' it mowed down what was there. Did both cheeks, cleaned razor, AS and Clarins moisturizer.
HOLY COW.... talk about BBS! SWMBO touched my face and was impressed. She thought she was going to have to collect on life insurance. LOL.
Here are her latest comments...
" You really need to use that on my legs.."
" How are you going to shave if you only have one? Don't you need 7 for a whole week? It would be much easier if you had 7..."
I love this woman. She has no idea what it cost, and I just can't tell her. NO WAY I can get 7 of them, but if I do well this month at the store, it is a possibility at least... yeah, right. Then it will be that she needs 7 new pair of boots...
I do see how the point can be menacing if you are not careful. Looking closer, it looks as if the point is a bit muted. Perhaps that is best.
Ok... Had to tell you all of my first go, even if it was a bit risky.

Paul

Yeah... but then to explain why I can't pay rent. LOL... " But, Baby, I know we are living behind a dumpster, but I have a GREAT shave!"
With any luck, the store will pick up with sales. I also have a second job in the works for March.... Things are looking up!

Working on that one. It may take some time to get what I need, but it will be worth it in the end. If the result I got this evening was any indication of the quality of shave I will be enjoying... woooohoooo.

Lol!
Great job! It looks pretty close to shave ready as that bevel has the glint of a bevel set. Maybe a few passes on a
pasted strop will do the job for now :).

Glad to hear that! I am itching to use it daily. What about the maker's mark? Is it correctly stamped or is it on the wrong side?

The stamps are on the flat side, which is usually on the side
facing you if the razor's toe faces left with the edge down.

Is that the Ebay Mizuike Kobo? I have had my eye on one of those for a while.

Yes it is!
Pay the extra few dollars and get EMS. It was terrible waiting! It got to the US in 2 days and took over a week sitting in NYC.
The vendor is very helpful and honest.

Well, then it does appear that it is stamped on the wrong side. I am just wondering why they would have done that. I am sure that it does not interfere with the shave... just sayin'!

No, I think its right..you need to turn your razor to face to the left
.edit-it is right brother :) if it was made the other way it would be considered a left hand razor. :)

You can tell the razor has been honed because they rounded the tip for you already. The NOS one I honed had a wicked spike at the tip before I muted it

And I was soooo thankful it was rounded a bit. I caught myself in time, but it could have been a fish-hook situation. So easy to do if you are not watching! This is NOT for a quick shave if you are running late!!!!!
