Questions for*** iKon users

Good Morning Gents,

For those of you using iKon razors, do you find that you use the open comb side more than the straight bar side? If the OC gets more action, then do you just flip your blade after every shave to make sure both edges are used equally?

I tend to use the OC side more, but since I don't use a blade for more than 3 shaves I don't bother to flip it.

I am a new fan of open-combed razors. Mine gives me an incredible shave, especially on my neck which has always been my #1 problem area - BUT it's too aggressive to use above my lip and in the tender area just below my lower lip. So my intention with the Ikon is to use the open comb side for everywhere except those two problem areas.

When I first saw an Ikon, I thought "Well that's a stupid design" but now I think it's a brilliant design and makes a lot of sense.

For me the closed side is preferred. I number the sides and flip.

When using mine I use the open-combed side on the first pass or two, then flip to the razor over for the rest of the shave. I know many prefer one style of razor to another, but I think Greg had an incredible insight when he made these razors. It really does provide two razors in one.

My iKon OSS is the most comfortable razor I have ever used and that includes the Feather AS by a slight margin. I use the open comb for the first two passes,then do two with the closed side. I should probably switch the blade around after a couple of shaves. The first pass with the open comb does most of the work,after that it's mostly touch up.

I've been using the OC part more often now,I even use it for head shaves.My neck is a lil sensitive so I do one pass OC,the other 2 passes get the closed comb.My face gets 3 pass OC.Any touch ups I do with the Closed comb.I was toying with maybe flipping the blade,but I change blades after 3 shaves anyways,I dont notice any difference in the blade.
