Good Morning Guys, happy Columbus Day! I think today is the legal holiday for Columbus Day. I have to work, so who cares?

The shave set up for the week is:

Olive oil soap, brand unknown, as a pre-shave. Just a sliver left. The way this stuff lasts, that sliver should be good for two week.

This was my first Schick Injector shave and I really enjoyed it and the Ted Pella blades provided a great shave. Thanks Ron for the good advice. No burn or irritation whatsoever. And what's better than a healthy layering of TABAC. :biggrin:

Result: 4.6/5.0 BBS with almost no irritation. The Merkur Progress razor at 3 with the Sharp blade made one sweet cutting sound. It was singing to me. The talc gives a nice finishing touch as usual. The shave I did on Sunday was done in the bathtub while I was soaking in a a menthol mineral solution. Ahhh...heaven. I did the shave totally by feel with no mirror. Definitely a different experience. Not one nick though.

I've now tried the Chubby with every soap I own except the new Conk sent to me when I bought it. That's up next on "the lathering block". The Chubby has broken in nicely over the last two plus weeks and hasn't lost a hair yet. Love the brush. I did use B&B 2006 once within the last two weeks with some Musgo cream as I was doing a morning shave after an early evening shave the day before - wanted some cushion.

Well, I tried my hardest to find a replacement for the Feathers, but was unsuccessfu. Best shave I've had in a couple of weeks. With the exception of a tiny bit of irritation on my neck (my fault), a perfect shave!

This is the first time I have tried the ADP aftershave balm. It is alcohol free, so it went on with minimal stinging. Left my skin soft, supple and really calmed the little bit of razor burn I had on my chinline. A great shave today!
BTW, the Fraser's cream is really, really good, which makes up for the scent .....not my favorite.

Had a pretty good shave with the SS/Feather combo today (didn't go for BBS everywhere). Don't use Feathers too often as I get very mixed results with these blades. It was nice getting back to the SuperSpeed - it zips arouind the face like there is almost nothing behind the blade compared to the 38C. I'll be going back to my trusty 38C when this feather goes dull, but the diversion was a nice change.

The proraso red was my first "real" shave cream when I started the DE adventure...and man is it great. The scent is just awesome. I had forgotten about the cooling during the cold water splash...quite refreshing indeed.

I'm still not sure about the Old Spice/ proraso ASB combination. They seemed to be competing a bit.

Sorry about this red cast on my pic. I only noticed this when the pic was posted on the forum. This was taken with my dear Fuji F30. I will take out the Nikon D200 with Nikkor 35 2.0 AIS again for delicate settings like these. The Fuji delivers sublime picture quality at ISO800, but as you can see, there is some barrel distortion and I had to tweak the curves a bit. The lighting is secondary from a bulb and the natural lighting was poor this morning (fog), so the light is sub par. Better next time.

This was the first time ever with a Feather that I was able to comfortably complete the third shave. In the past they had consistently bombed out after the second or in the middle of the third shave. Anyhoo, great shave - BBS with no irritation. The Velva produced almost zero burn today. :thumbup:

I was going to continue with the SS this week and pop another Feather in it but I miss my Merkur 38C so I am going to exercise my right to reverse that decision.

You sir are a lucky man!

I love Royall Lyme but it lasts less than an hour on me. At least I get well into the day with another Royall favorite of mine - the Mandarin.

Well, I don't get a full on blast of scent after 8 hours, mind you, but pleasing wafts of the spicy, orange peel-y bits of RL keep coming all day. As a bonus, the Royalls are beyond equal in the "thermonuclear face burn" department! :thumbup:

Israeli Super+ blades are so smooth, I think they're not "working." After the shave I feel my face and I realize they work just fine. BBS! :cool:

I don't know about the Marlborough splash. My first impression is it smelled like the inside of a a hamster's cage. Memories of 3rd grade on my face.. :001_unsur

A very pleasant shave tonight, this is my first time with a Santal Cream sample, it is fantastic stuff. I definitely need to pick some up. I also broke out a blast for the past tonight, the Proraso Pre/Post as pleasant as tonight's shave was, I think I'll continue using it as a preshave for a while and see how things go.
