Just tried this out for the first time last night. Gave about an inch-long squirt on top of my soaked and squeezed Omega Pro 48 boar brush and bowl lathered it. Interesting creamy, soapy, almost dessert-like scent, but it was pleasant. Lathered up easily and gave a great cushion with a good amount of slickness for my Atra to get through 36 hours of stubble, to give me a BBS for my Valentines date.
Not sure how often I'll be using it as the scent isn't as exciting as the other creams and soaps in my den, but this stuff just works.
(This is for the green cream in the red tube)

It's good stuff! The mentholated Italian version is even better.

How does it compare to Proraso?

Much more mentholated and medicinally scented- a better cream though.

+1. Just fyi that the Palmolive "Classic" is not made in Italy. Belgium I believe. The Italian menthol version however is fantastic also. Both outperform Proraso IMO, though it is a fine cream in it's own right. I can't lie that I think classic palmolive smells divine and performs equally as impressive. The menthol version has both strong menthol sensations while also being refreshingly "minty". Both are great values, especially in Europe where I am to understand that they practically give the stuff away.

... is the Italian mentholated "Palmolive rinfrescante" :001_tt1: that I became from a Italian friend. It has much more "Freezing" than the Proraso cream.
The scent ist - as said before - a little "medicated" but pleasant; for me :wink2:.
A very good shaving cream from Palmolive.
I´m looking for the "normal" italian Palmolive ...

Hmm, being a Proraso lover, I want to give Palmolive Menthol a shot. Does the scent compare to the fresh, babershop scent of Proraso in the green tube? Where can I buy both Palmolive Classic and Menthol in the US? Any online retailers sell it?

Wales, no it doesn't smell anything like Proraso. Extremely medicinal....really not a fan of the scent but the performance makes up for it. I know joe at Italian Barber has it but I'm not sure about any US based retailers. Well, there is Pasteur's here in NYC of you make the trip up from Philly.

I like medicinal scents. How strong is the menthol? I want to find a cost effective way to purchase it online so I don't have to pay shipping fees (and not have to order over a certain amount for free shipping).

Very strong menthol. No clue where you could get it without paying shipping costs, though.

West Coast Shaving has it, even Amazon has it I believe. Personally I almost think it smells like minty toothpaste. I can get the medicinal thing, but doesn't seem strong to me. YMMV.
