No... not a Marine.. My neck!!!

So I started using splashes and my neck turned to leather after only three days. Dried out and wrinkled. It was very disheartening when my wife said what's wrong with your neck? My shaves were great, nice a smooth but a few hours later my neck was done, arid as the Sahara!!! So I've read in a few places that you should never put alcohol on your face... I know plenty of guys do, I guess I'm not one of guys that can do it. Looks like I need a balm only. Fortunately I have some, but I wanted to pass this word of caution to anyone that might be suffering LNS (Leather Neck Syndrome).

My skin gets dry in the winter so I use Nivea Sensitive balm and follow it with a splash. It stops my skin from getting too dry, it may work for you

Alcohol splashes plus the dry winter air and heating are going to dry your skin out.

Definitely keep in mind extra hydration. Water will help, a lot. Also use a balm in addition to a splash if you are like me and don't like to put your splashes away in the winter. Good luck!

Bingo! Alcohol is dehydrating, that's why some shavers dip their razors in it after shaving....to dry the blade, etc. Most "splashes" are very high in alcohol. I avoid them.
