I got sniped at 30 seconds or less. I decided to let it go at the price it was bid at. Should I have put in a higher bid???
BTW, I've got another bid going for a full-size Tech which I think I'd really rather have. No link to comply with forum rules until it's over.

No. The travel tech is a toy at best.

There's a reason why all the sets look like NOS, because nobody ever used them.

Unless you are a collector, you did not miss anything. The full size Tech has a better handle, I think. You might also enjoy a Gillette NEW, open comb, which is a bit more aggressive, but tame compared to something like the 2011 Muhle R41.

I would not loose any sleep over that. A Tech travel set in new condition is not hard to come by.

The next time I run into one at an Antique shop, it's yours. They truly are a dime a dozen and a novelty. I've literally ran across at least 30 of them in antique stores.

If you want a really good performing 3 piece gillette i suggest a fat handle tech, i am impressed with mine, a most usable piece of equipment.

Better to save your cash for something else

I saw that also, but didn't bite since they are so common. Even though this one had a case, I passed. I personally have a few travels only because I wanted a few in my collection. I just bought a mint condition one at a flea market for $5.

I've used mine once or twice... it was a fine shave, but a similar issue applies to those using a brush the size of a wee scot... you have to adjust your style to fit the size.

If you want a cool travel set, look for one of the Gillette sets with a single ring, travel brush, and tube for soap. Or a Khaki set. For that matter, you could just get an Old Type in a case and be done with it. Only a backpacker would probably appreciate the difference in size between a full size razor and the short handled razors like the one you were looking at.

If you disassembe a three piece razor, it takes up very little room in your shave kit. For me, I'm more concerned about taking a razor that if it gets broke or stolen won't be that great of a loss. That's why I usually travel with my Old Type that I paid two dollars for. Plus the fact that it shaves great.

But what am I talking about, I have RAD and tend to buy nice looking razors regardless of whether it makes sense or not:drool:
