I'm only another newby/oldie here but am shaving my way through selections of a sample pack which was shared with me. So far I've loved the Feather, got 7 shaves out of one and it was still superior to the generic blade from the local pharmacy on it's first try. Astras seemed acceptable to me. Lasted 5 shaves before giving up. Next up was a carbon steel Treet which was a nice shave until it wasn't. That is, it shaved really great for 6 shaves but then died off. Wasn't ever uncomfortable but simply no longer cut. Just put a Trig in last night. It was notable for an especially nice feel it gave to the shave.

A search didn't reveal a lot of discussion about Trig blades. Any fans?

Back on the Treet experience. I treated my Treet blade in alcohol after each use. I'm still wondering if the edge could have somehow been oxidized in a minute way for the blade just died away.

I have other razors standing by but continue to run through my blade samples with the 1940s ball-end Tech to keep the blade test honest.

6 shaves! Even with my sparsely populated beard (chin and moustache only) an Astra SS lasts me only 4-5 days.

Skip the alcohol on your next blade and see the results (tho I very much doubt alcohol has anything to do with the 'longevity" or the lack of it).

Treet makes a lot of blades (like Lord). Of the ones I've tried, Trig and the Dura Sharp carbons are the best. I think a lot of people overlook Treet and that might be a reason they're so cheap.

I recently finished my blade sample pack and the Treets beat the Trigs by a wide margin. I ordered 100 ea of the Treet Classic and Platinums. The Trigs couldn't make it through the first pass before being tossed.

Like the Platinums better...seem smoother.

Platinums are excellent blades.
