Got my order from Gifts & Care (http://www.giftsandcare.com/en/catalog/the-pleasure-of-shaving.html) today, oh boy oh boy!
Juan sure knows how to protect your order!
Bubble wrap everywhere, glass bottles rolled into cardboard then rolled into bubble wrap.
The ability to set loft or knots into different handles is a top service:thumbsup:.
I ordered this beautiful brush in natural, unbleached, undyed hair:
The Vie-Long 13071 (http://www.giftsandcare.com/en/catalog/the-pleasure-of-shaving/horse-shaving-brushes/706-vie-long-horse-hair-shaving-brush-13071.html).
Customized the loft from 57mm to 49mm. This should do very well for (face) lathering hard soaps.
Comes in a knot size of a good 23mm. Hair mix: 35% mane hair; 65% tail hair.
Was hoping to be able to shave with it tonight, but pheeeew, smelly. :9898: Smelly, smelly horses.
It's resting in Old Spice Classic body wash, after a dishwashing liquid and shampoo bath.

Without further ado, I present the olive wood handled horse hair Vie-Long 13071

I also ordered "some" Myrsol: 1 liter (33.8 ounces):yikes:of Formula K, and 1 ltr of Balsamic Water.

Furthermore some Spanish Floid, La Toja shave sticks and delishous Marvis cinnemon toothpaste:tooth:,
and the hard-to-get Dr. Selby Lavender luxury shaving cream (http://giftsandcare.com/en/catalog/the-pleasure-of-shaving/dr-selby/764-dr-selby-lavander-luxury-shaving-cream-125gr.html), comes in a amazing classic-looking container.
Again, thank you Juan, for excellent service !
Excuse the crappy cell-phone pics.

Horsehair and Dr. Selby make a great combo. Enjoy.

Yea, you need to lather and let new "horsey" brushes sit overnight. It should be better tomorrow after soaking overnight in lather. You can use it but it might be a little to stinky under the nose to be enjoyable

Use a Teaspoon of White or Apple-Cider Vinegar for every 2oz of very cold water and soak ~10 minutes, the cold water helps set the dye (Banded Hair) and removes ~90% of the smell. Rinse & lather with a heavy scented soap like Tabac, Arko or Safari, let it stand in the lather ~20 minutes then rinse and let dry. The Brown Lather is normal for any dyed brush, without a Vinegar & cold water soak, your first 2-4 lathers will be brownish black. This solution is also effective when cleaning the soap/cream residue & mineral deposits(from hard water) from your brushes.

Thnx guys!
I did let it sit lathered up through a night.
Funny thing is my Mühle hardly smelled when I got that one, so I wasn't expecting a funk this penetrating.
I did not knew the cider trick, it is not dyed though. Had already done it to decalcify my brush and razor.
Might still try it, just to see what it does for odor.
I wasn't that much in a hurry so shave with it anyways, since today I'm expecting my R41.
Would be nice to be able to use them both.
