So I got my bottle in the mail today. I like the spicy scent. One thing bummed me out though. The bottle has a plastic screw cap. I was looking forward to the cork....
I think the cork's been gone a long time. I bought my bottle 2-3 years ago & it came w/the plastic screw cap. But it's still in a nice glass bottle, the juice inside hasn't changed, and that's all that matters!

So, anyone have experience with the lime? How different is it, and how Limey?

I'll just get it out of the way before someone else says otherwise.
Cork is not endangered.
Anyway, back to the topic of Dominica Bay Rum. Can anyone who's used this stuff rate it on a burnination scale compared to Ogallala Bay Rum? I love their scents but the original Ogallala splash just burns my face even if I shake it up beforehand. Burt's Bees bay rum balm does the same to me, so maybe my skin just doesn't like bay oil. But then again, I don't get that feeling from Ogallala's Bay Rum, Limes and Peppercorns scent, or their Bay Rum and Sandalwood stuff. If it's more mellow then maybe I'll consider picking up a bottle someday.

I have their lime stuff. It smells awesome. Does not burn as much as other "old school" after shaves. However, the scent is gone within a short period of time. I would love to buy something that offers the same scent but lasts longer.

I have both . Not overly doused
in lime just enough to know its there and make the overall scent enough of a difference for me to enjoy em both.

The lime is very subtle unfortunately, it's there but I really wish it was a little more there.

I also find Ogallala to be one of the top face burners in my rotation, I love it though!
If Ogallala was a 10 on the burn scale I would put Dominica as a 2 or 3 tops.

Is there is difference between dominica bay rum and Caribbean bay rum lime.
Seems they have similar packing, but different names.
Please advice

Yea I wanted a cork too, so I tossed the lid and shoved a wine cork in it. Works great.

The mouth on the Dominica is huge, so careful pouring. I have St. Lucia and it has a cork. Both, honestly and for me are more of a splash. Slight burn but the scent is gone in no time at all.

Sorry if reviving an older thread is frowned upon, but I thought it better than starting a new thread...
I just received some of this BR this morning in the mail, and I have to say I LOVE the smell! It is just incredible! I was really turned off of BRs when I received a bottle of Pinaud VI BR. (If you like that, awesome. It just smelled too clovey for me.) The Dominica is just an amazing scent! I am really loving it. The only downside is the large mouth opening, but even this isn't that big of a deal. I am wondering if using an alcohol spout, like you see on liquor bottles might work for this problem. Then it can just be splashed on. Just an idea that I think I will try.

That is one thing I dislike about Dominica. It would be nice if it had the reducer in there to moderate the spalsh

Place your thumb over the opening like you would on a garden hose to get it to spray and you can limit it to a few drops with the BR.

You know, I've probably tried at least 6-8 different bay rums. Domenica is BY FAR my favorite. It's just great stuff!

So, does anyone know what has happened to the Dominica Bay Rum Lime? I have it and love it. Since I am getting a bit low, I wanted to re-order but could not find any. Any ideas?

If you're close to an Orvis store (I don't know much about Louisville), I know that Orvis stores generally sell both scents--but it's worth a call to make sure your local store stocks them.

I have some of this as well and like it for those days I don't want anything heavily scented. As for the opening, I just partially cover it with my thumb and that does the trick.

Depending on preference there are two other ways you can go.
Drill a 1/16" hole in the cap itself and cover with masking tape when not in use.
Alternatively find a cork that fits and drill a hole in that with nail or screw as plug. A cork looks very fitting with any bay rum product.
