Never used a de before

I have never used a de before and after having my straight for a little while, 2 months, I'm looking to get a de for when I don't have time for the straight instead of having to resort to my cartridge razor which makes me feel all girly when I have to. So my unusual request is this; if someone has an extra de they are willing to let me try for a month I will pay shipping both ways if you will let me try your razor before I buy one. Im willing to throw in a pound of locally roasted coffee as an incentive for you that will be shipped with the return of your razor. If interested please pm me and we'll work out the details.

Just get a Lord L6 or Concord tech... $10 shipped. Throw it out or PIF if you don't like it.

Never thought of that, always looked at spending around $40 for a decent de but $10 is easily doable to try it out, thank you

+1 on the L6. I've never used a Concord and can't speak to that. Alternatively, OP, if your hope is to have a DE that functions as aggressively (i.e., like a straight) as possible, then you might try your coffee and postage offer in exchange for trying a Mühle R41. That razor is widely reputed to be as aggressive as any DE available. A vintage Rolls, which has a permanent wedge blade that you must strop and hone, would also be more like a straight than most DEs. Rolls razors, though, are pretty cheaply available, and you could buy one of those around here for about the same price as a new L6.
