Hello

I was on this site about a yr. ago and not sure if i posted this.
Looking for info on a: H.M. Christensen straight razor i have.
Stamped Brockton, Ma. (with above name) and "warranted" on reverse side.
Maybe a date or value ?

It is listed in the "Standard Guide to Razors", 3rd Edition. The company was in business from 1889-1957 which doesn't tell us a whole lot.... From the pics the razor looks pretty standard. The starting value is $12.00 then you go from there. Just from the pics, and I am assuming that those are celluloid scales, and that the razor was made before 1930, it would be around, and I mean around, $45.00 but that is a collector value. Market value, as in E-bay, is a whole different animal... If you really want to know how much money you can get for it, do a search for that type of razor on e-bay, and watch what they go for, and even that varies from week to week.....

That razor is an excellent shaver, I'd wager, since the three Christensen razors I've had were all quite good razors. It is not, however, a highly sought after collectible. The razor does, however, seem to be in quite good shape and should clean up very well and will make someone an excellent shaver. I don't see any signs of hone wear.

When you stated Celluoid scales, not sure what you mean't ?
I will try to post some better pics. I'm sure the handles are ivory
as i can see the grain lines. They run parallel with the handle.
Wish i could find the case. I'm sure i have it somewhere.
Once again thank's.
