Hi, for aftershave I'm currently using Nivea for men revitalizing double action balm. It seems to be okay but doesn't do much for me. I have very very sensitive skin (so the alcohol in splashes burns), but I also have very oily skin so balm tends to not help that. Also I live in Alabama, so once summer hits something tells me I'll like the balm less. I was hoping I could get some reccomendations on what to use regarding my situation. I really need something to help with redness and ingrown hairs.

Maybe just plain witch hazel? The USP standard is 14% alcohol, which might work for you, or Thayers makes an alcohol-free version.

Prospector Co. makes a couple of after shaves that use witch hazel with aloe and contain no alcohol. I like their Peary & Henson one.

Are you looking for something you can pick up locally or are you good with going online? I know Thayers that was mentioned above can be found at different local places, most easily at a natural foods type store. You will be pretty limited unless you go online.

I have sensitive skin and use these:
- Proraso slapsh - it has alcohol but not much burn. Its great in the summer because it has a menthol cooling effect and in the winter it will wake you up.
- Boosters - Another alcohol splash, but has even less burn than proraso. I would go so far to say that it doesnt have any burn. It comes in several scents. My favorites are Mosswood, Polar Ice (small menthol cooling effect), and Aquarius (which smells just like Clubman).

In my experience Speick A/S splash has much less burn than Boosters, I actually don't feel any. Also I use Nivea Sensitive in the winter and it is light, non greasy and virtually no scent. Hope this helps

I like speick, but it burns for me. I like the burn sometimes though.
Lucky tiger has no burn for me. Jack Black makes one that is supposed to be great for a no burn / sensitive AS. Not too popular around here, but a friend and my dad swear by this stuff. I've only used it once and I liked it.
I wouldnt expect an aftershave to fix problems with red skin or ingrown hairs... that comes down to technique.

Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic: No alcohol and very soothing with a light and fleeting orange scent.
If you're looking for scent, you might scout your local Walmart for Stetson Cooling Moisture AS. It's got a much lower alcohol content than others, and has plenty of skin soothers as well. Since it uses Menthyl Lactate instead of regular menthol, the cooling effect is less aggressive as well.

+1. It's a nice scent too.
For balms, check out Mama Bear. She has a summer and winter balm, and you can get them in any scent you want. They are not as thick and heavy as store-bought balms, too. They might also be an option for you.
