I've been DE shaving for just over a year now and had a few comments to make.

1.) No more razor burn or nicks even when changing out to different razor's and/or blades (knock on wood). When they say technique is everything they mean it. It just takes time.

2.) With sensitive skin washing my face with a good pre-shave soap like "Musgo Real Glyce" or Proraso's pre-shave soap makes a big difference. I do not rinse the wash towel out I get it hot and wet wash my face and towel it off to keep as much water on my face as possible.

3.) I've noticed that with said sensitive skin lathering my whole face is a wasted effort it just dries out and irritates me to much. I've switched to just lathering the section I'm working on and then wiping it off and lathering the next section. I'm not even talking about a full side of the face just say a cheek and jawline. It keeps the lather wet on my face.

4.) I ether use Truefitt & Hill's pre-shave oil or just regular baby oil. I haven't found anything that does a better job than baby oil but the T&H stuff smells better so I use it maybe once a week when I want a little "extra".

5.) After the shave I splash my face with cold water (the colder the better) pat it dry (don't scrub with a dry towel) then slap on some witch hazel. Once that dries a good after shave balm is a luxury not a pain.

You made the switch for the same reasons I did and found what works for you. I think your detailed explanation verifies what I have always thought, that shaving was unpleasant because we really didn't know how to shave. Congratulations for being a member of the select few to figure it out.
