I need 2 brushes exclusively for face lathering of creams. I never ever use soap as it dries out my skin !

I want 2 Simpsons - so should I go for 2 Chubby 2 Super 2-Band, 2 Duke 3 Super 2- Band or one of each ?

I've come to the conclusion that Super 2-Band is the best choice for a smooth & firm & rich face lather brush over the Best Badger and Super 3-Band.

So what should I get :)

I already own 2 extremely soft Silvertip 3-Band brushes used exclusively for bowl lathering - 2 Mühle Sophist Silvertip 23 mm knot/55 mm loft. Need 2 partners for them - I know dense brushes takes 24-36 hours to dry completely, so this is why I intend to buy 2 Face lather brushes to accompany my 2 bowl lather brushes.

Please vote now ;)

My vote was for one of each. Honestly, try a few brushes you think you might like to zero in on what works for you. You can keep the ones that don't work so well, as a brush to use when you want a change of pace. It never hurts to have a brush rotation so your brushes can dry between uses. If you find a brush that truly just doesn't work for you, you can recoup ~80-90% of your expenses by flipping it on BST.

The Simpsons Super Two band I had didn't take 24 hours to dry. I'd get one of each though just for the sake of variety, all though those two are pretty close to the same.

2 of the same of anything is blah - variety is good.

I always want something a little different in a brush, so I'd never buy 2 of the same. And every time I rack my brain to decide between two brushes, I eventually wind up with both.

Definitely get one of each. Variety is the spice of life!

Get one of each, that way if you decide one is FAR better than the other, you can sell the other and get a matched set, should you wish to. (Personally, *I* couldn't see the value, to me, of having two of the same brush... I went 17 years of daily shaves with the same badger, never worrying whether it was fully dried or not before the next shave - and it often was not - and it still has never lost a single hair after the 2 that came out on my first shave.)

I've never seen a Duke in 2-band. I think they only come in "Best"

You can get a Duke 2 in 3 band Super in the ivory fleck LE. But I have never seen a 2 band one.

I just picked up this 2-band Super recently, and love it. The Emperor is making my Chubbys jealous.

I wouldn't buy two of any brush...why? Plus from all I've read, a Chubby 2 and Duke 3 are very similar.

The Chubbies are so dense that a 3-band super is great for face lathering. You should consider a Thater or Shavemac 2 band. Great brushes. Also the Rooney Heritage line as fabulous choices that would work great.
