Hello all! I am brand new to B&B. Just signed up today. My wife bought me a badger brush a couple of years ago and now it is starting to fall apart. My question is what is a good brush to use on a daily basis and not too expensive. I still consider myself new to all this stuff although I've been wet shaving with a DE Razor for 2 years now. And I love it!
I am glad to have found this place! Thanks in advance for the help!

Welcome to B&B! Do you bowl lather or face lather, and what is your price range?

Welcome!
What do you mean by "not too expensive"?

+1 on what beginish said. Just about any brush will work OK. Some work better for bowl lathering, and some better for face lathering. The more money you spend, up to a point, will buy you an increase in comfort and longevity. One you get into the three figure range, you're probably paying more for appearance or reputation...a fashion statement, so to speak.

You have to try a quality boar brush...I am partial to my Semogue 830...soft badger like feel, but still enough backbone for serious MWF lather.

I prefer to stay around the $50 range but would go as high as $75 for the brush. I bowl lather.
Check out the Simpson's Colonel.

Check out the Simpson's Colonel.
+1. Check out the Rooney 2/1 and 3/1 as well. You can also pick up 3-4 outstanding Semogue and/or Omega boar brushes for the $75 budget.

+1 And, since very reasonably priced, you can also add a nice Semogue boar! :wink2:

Keep watching the BST Forum. Pick up a quality name brand Badger brush (Simpson, Kent, Vulfix, etc.) and an Omega 48 or 49, or Semogue 830 or 1305 boar. If you acquire something that you don't like, you can always resell it on BST. It's a win/win situation.
Worst case scenario, you contract acute SBAD (Shaving Brush Acquisition Disorder) and end up with 20+ brushes like me. :w00t:
I know in my mind that I will never need all of these brushes, but when I look at them and fondle them, I just cannot part with them. :crying:
