I'm apparently being given a new "aftershave" for christmas and can't find much at our local shops that I like;

I've tried looking on here for things similar to what I currently have but can't find many / any references to them.

I have and like the following EDT:

Givenchy Xeryus Rouge
Givenchy Pi
Marc Jacobs Men
Armani Attitude
I'm not sure of the budget but probably under $200

Can someone please suggest something in a similar vein that I may wish to try?

Thanks

I can't believe no one replied, especially with such a generous budget! I am new to this and don't know much about fragrances, yet. Good luck, though. I hope you find what you're looking for, but for me, the best part so far has been the experimenting!

With that kind of budget, I'd go for creed's millesime imperial.

Some thoughts on your preferences:

Givenchy Xeryus Rouge - A sweet, vanilla/cedar/woodsy scent
Givenchy Pi - A very sweet almond/vanilla scent
Marc Jacobs Men - Lots of black pepper
Armani Attitude - Sweet with a bit of powder and coffee
With a budget of $200, you could either go for one really expensive fragrance, or two or three less costly fragrances to add to your rotation.

I'll suggest a few for you to try, and I do suggest you try these before buying them. Hopefully others will add some more suggestions.

Dior Homme
Guerlain L'Instant Extreme (if you can find it)

Yeah Randy has done the right thing and listed the types of frag you already have and like, and it seems that you're a bloke that likes his gourmand fragrances. Welcome to the club :)

I have not tried all of his suggestions (haven't tried the Dior nor the MPG), but I have to say I wasn't blown away by BtB by Kilian. For a vanilla/powder/coffee style scent, you could do a lot worse than Rochas Man (it's quite inexpensive too) but if you could source the Tom Ford TV for under $200 I would say go for it.

Definitely sample first, as Randy has suggested, as $200 is a big mistake to make. Who knows, you may be one of the many that sing BtB's praise.

EDIT - and shop around. Kilian's fragrances run about $225 for a bottle, but you can save $100 or so by ordering the refill pack and decanting it into a plain perfume bottle. Check all the online retailers too.

Youve a bit of a sweet tooth. I echo some of Randy's suggestions.

Tobacco Vanille
L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme EdT or eEdP
New Haarlem or Rochas Man

A*Men Pure Havane

+1 to all of these and I'll throw in Dior Homme Intense to the mix. I know Randy already said Dior Homme, but the intense version is sweeter and a heavier on the cocoa.
