It must have been looking for me, because I can't otherwise imagine how it sat out there all day without someone else giving the seller, who was a regulation antique dealer, the $10.00 he was asking. I bought the razor, and the dealer says "Oh, wait a second...this stuff goes with it". He then proceeds to pull out the original tin, blade box with two of the old wedge blades and blade holder, stropping device that attaches to the razor, and something I've never seen before, an adapter that allows you to use modern SE blades with this old style, wedge blade razor. What a contraption! I've shaved with the razor/adapter, and it really works, although the shave is more akin to using a straight, as that blade feels like it's right on your skin. Nice shave, though...

Fine, I'll give you $20 and not a penny more! Doubling your money, you dirty grifter.
Seriously though, that's an amazing score! No question, you win the Internet today. That adapter is pretty sweet just on its own. It looks like it's got a brand name on the back side of it. What's that say?

Yep, the adapter is what really got me excited, as I'd never seen one before, and it gives me a way to shave with these razors that don't have the blade "stops". I've struggled to make out the name on the adapter, but their manufacturing process placed a metal ball in the center of the adapter, obscuring the name, so all I can make out is an "E" at the front, and "ON" at the end, with two letters unreadable in the center..."E??ON"

Is that thing a pin that holds the rod inside the outer clip? Is it or the rod removable or fixed in place?
This is the kind of puzzler I love.

Yep, it looks like they slipped the clip over the metal cylinder, and then installed the pin to hold it in place. As far as I can tell, the pin doesn't come out.

The only thing that could make that thing look any cooler is if it has a miniture steam engine attached to it to make it the first powered razor. Serioulsy though, I have to agree with MacDaddy.. you totatlly won the internet. (I am stealing that phrase if you don't mind)

The razor itself is pretty light, but the adapter looks like it was intentionally designed to be heavy, with that metal cylinder weighing in at around the same weight as a comparably sized lead fishing weight. So with the adapter on the razor, the whole thing is very top heavy.

I'll check..there may be a steam engine hiding in there somewhere. :)

Pretty awesome score, especially for the price! I can't even decide on the coolest part of it: the styling of the razor, the adapter, or the old-fashioned advertising. You know it's old-fashioned when the ad copy uses the subjunctive correctly. :thumbup1:

Hey Joe,
The photographs will no longer upload. Would you please post them again?
Also, if you ever wish to sell this, please contact me first. I want it very badly!
Thank you.
