I'm fighting the temptation to shave today. After weeks of repeatedly lathering new soaps and creams, trying new DEs, sometimes shaving twice a day, my skin needs a rest. But I hear those brushes and creams calling.... Can anyone talk me off the ledge?

Maybe we need a kind of on-line AA meeting to help each other make it one day at a time without a shave?

This could easily grow into separate meetings to deal with the various ADs.

As it works now, I fear this forum is an addiction enabler rather than a society to help us deal with our problems. ;--))

If it helps, lather without shaving. That may even promote healing, especially with a nice product like TOBS avocado or Nancy Boy or a Shea butter soap.

Enjoy yourself but be patient.

So, I've managed to hold myself back through series of distractions. First, trimming the beard. Then the neck line. And finally, taking advantage of God's generosity, shaving the extra acreage on top of my head. All this followed by some deep facial cleansing using QED's French green clay. Faceturbation of a wholly different kind. Then a two hour massage after some exercise.

Oh yeah, and chatting on the phone with Miss Universe, who happens to be having lunch with SWMBO in NYC (it's a long story). :--)) more than one way to cure every addiction, I guess.
