At least in the Euro-White and HMW examples I have.... there is a difference, and a very noticible one at that. Not only is the HMW "whiter" at the tips, it is also not as deep of a black at the base. The differences however do not just stop at "cosmetics" - as the HMW hair is a much thinner, softer hair, yet still has a lot of ridgidity to it. The Euro-White is more of a "silver" color at the tips, with much thicker, stouter, "scratchier" hair. The Plisson Euro White feels quite similar to the tips of a Edwin Jagger "best" badger - not at all uncomfortable, but it will sure let you know it is there. The Plisson HMW has much softer tips, more along the lines of a kent, or a edwin jagger silvertip, yet has a lot more vertical strenght than the aformentioned. The Plisson HMW is soft, yet not nearly as soft at the tips as a Rooney Finest, which provides similar vertical strength.
