The Whole Foods store by me has all the Thayers Alcohol Free scented and unscented varieties and Superhazel liquid and medicated pads. The medicated pads are a few bucks cheaper. Anyone have experience with the pads? Or should i just man up, open the wallet more and buy the bottle and splash it on by hand?

I use the aftershave in the bottle everyday. It is the only item in my shave den that gets used every day and I am totally addicted to it.
In my opinion it is worth every penny and I buy it in bulk when I find a sale.

get the bottle and some cotton balls-you'll come out cheaper in the long run.

Just splash it on your still wet face. It only takes a bit of a squirt and you will not be wasting cotton or whatever the pads are made of.

I have been looking at the two as well. It looked to me like you'd get more
for your money out of the bottle. I just picked up a bottle. My face is appreciating it. Funny thing the speciality health food store was cheaper the grocery store.

I just splash it on my face or use a Swissper and WH. A huge pack is a couple of bucks. Way cheaper than having Thayers do it for you!

sorry Nicks&Cuts, i just want to be extra careful. I once had an Aussie co-worker of mine ask me to pass him a "serviette" during lunch, and he looked horrified when i politely asked him if that was the same as a napkin. So what i gather from Google, a Swissper is a cotton ball/pad/round? Please correct me if I am wrong!

:lol::lol::lol:

I use Swisspers like these. (http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/ProductDetails?Stockcode=15722&name=swisspers-cotton-pads-make-up) <$4 for 80.

thank you sir! I mean only to enlighten myself and others, never to make fun (the aforementioned co-worker slapped me so hard on the back that it hurt and bought me a drink when i explained to him that the only other time i had heard 'serviette' was as a synonym for a tampon). I have learned much from your shaving journal, keep it going!

hahaha. That's gold mate - I think you'd be hard pressed to find an Aussie who would be offended at that. We actually sometimes call tampons "sanitary napkins" I guess it goes both ways! ... Other easy to misunderstand sentences..."Goin' for a walk down to the shops in my thongs" :lol: I'll let you Google it.

Thanks for the compliment to mate! I'm glad you're getting something out of the journal...I love doing it atm!

thongs=flip flop sandals unless i am terribly out of it on slang! I'm sure i'm not the only one getting something out of your journal

To true mate! I always find the idea of calling them "flip-flops" kinda funny. Unless you're gonna start calling shoes "stomp-stomps" :001_tongu

If you're from New Zealand they'd be called jandals...

WH pads are good for hemorrhoids, just awkward to hold them in place in social situations
the liquid for AS does not present such a problem, use liquid for AS
try not to confuse
