It is a fine soap for $14. For me not a $40 soap.

Yeah it's superb soap, but not at that price. There's actually a few places on line that you can get it for $14, just do a google search.

Good performer, but not at that price as the others have noted. You also might want to know that the scent wasn't for me.... very heavy and "'70s-ish" to me.

As the others have said, it's a good performer that's not worth $40. It's definitely worth $14, IMO. I like Safari and its woodsy undertones.

Is the stuff currently available at on line retailers like Amazon the tallow-based soap? The stuff people were snapping up was old stock tallow versions of this soap. I don't know if they converted to a vegetable base in later years as so many other manufactureres did.
