It would work great as long as it is shave ready condition...some vendors will hone it for you prior to shipment.

Personally, I would suggest buying a vintage off the BST or from whippeddog so you won't be heartbroken when you drop it in the sink, hit it into the faucet, or roll the edge on the strop. After you are proficient, THEN drop cash for some bling ;)

I have this razor. It's very nice, but a pain to hone. To Kentos point, if you buy it, make sure it's shave ready. The Superior Shave or Straight Razor Designs are 2 dovo dealers that will hand hone prior to selling it. To Kentos other point, you might be better suited picking up a vintage on BST or from whipped dog until you're sure this is something for you.
